People are just so smart and no ugly post war buildings.I know this period had its problems but it looks so attractive to me now in 2019.

My dear friend Dick Irish. 2 years have gone and we still think of you every day. Your model trams and buses are on display in the man cave. I will treasure them always.

Fantastic video. I was born after the trolley buses stopped. Lived in Pokesdown and my family are from there, loved listening to the stories my Grandmother told me about the trams and trolleybuses. Also the old tram depot next to the bell pub opposite Pokesdown train station

Great footage! I grew up in Bournemouth but was unaware that trams rolled along our streets at one time - we arrived 30 years after they were replaced by trolley buses.

in the course of filming at 2 mins 53 secs it's the Hotel London, and at 4 min 27 secs, it's developed into the art deco building at the junction of Commercail and Avenue Roads.

It's amazing to me how the Bournemouth Square looks larger than it is now, it is less cluttered without all the stupid over-priced food stalls.

Very interesting piece of film, especially the part with the 'chars-a-bancs' parked (Royal Blue, and Shamrock & Rambler at a guess), with the usual boards leaning on them advertising their day trips etc. The trams were immaculate to the end, such a shame the Llandudno & C B R closed just before the 'preservation movement' got going as they bought quite a few for their very interesting fleet and would have been a marvellous attraction nowadays. The commentary was excellent I thought, I presume this film just pre-dates the trolleybus era.
