Thanks guys! If I had been here longer I was considering messaging you to meet up and fish. Something I'm hoping we can do some day in the future even if it's just a quick Bow River fishing session :)

No mention of time of day you fished, if muddy water perhaps a wooly bugger with a SJ worm? No mention of any bugs or hatches. Do you have a seine net, may help on rivers you are new to? Still love your enthusiasm.

John you're calling me out... And I need it! I didn't do enough research ahead of time or on the water that day. I should have kicked up some rocks. Still haven't done the seine thing, might be fun to pick one up for xmas or something. Hey, if I'm ever not enthusiastic definitely call me out!!!

@@RosinFlyFishing you are no different to most of us. "I'm going fishing", as we get out of bed. Head to our targeted spot of river/lake. Decide to use a certain fly, and off we go. Just finished reading a great nymphing book thats changed my mind. A / if time permits ask your local fly shop what hatches are on, and what fly seems to be catching fish at that time B/ when you get to the stream, take 15 mins or so to check for bugs, and likely good fishing spots C/ select the right leader to match the fly you select ( something I often fail to do, and wonder why my cast is poor) When you only have a few hours to fish, it's tempting to take short cuts. But better 1 hr of good fishing, than 2 hours of blindly angling.

Bow river and creeks around have been really hard this year, from what I’ve heard Nymphs have been the only thing the fish have been eating but not too often, couple locals say it’s been the worst year in years
