Thank you for doing this review, because everytime I see a bowflex video on the M6 they never really show the legs or feet. They keep showing the people who are using the handles in the back, which makes it look uncomfortable, glad I saw this showing that you like the handles in the front.

I love how honest they are. I'm thinking of getting the MAx trainer for my small apartment.

i have the M6. it's a great machine. you don't have to use the subscription. best thing you can do is read the short instruction manual. it will save you a lot of time on the setup and use of the machine. especially if you want it to track and adjust your workouts.

Love the video! My wife and I are considering buying it this week. Need to find something low impact since my knees and lower back are no longer loving indoor rowing and running :)

Glad to hear it!! Let us know how you enjoy the Bowflex. We are loving the more lofi feel of the M6 over the ones with screens. Either way you go, the Bowflex trainers feel so good on the joints.

One thing we forgot to mention is that our basement ceiling is really low, this makes the Bowflex Max M6 Trainer look taller in the video.

I have the same exact question, since it's not an actual elliptical I want to know how it feels on the knees? TIA

even with the JRNY app I cannot see the workouts from the programs on the machine. Shouldn't those get copied to the JRNY app when you connect next?

How would you describe the resistance at the top end? Walking through water, mud, molasses?
@luxuriousmistake

Fascinating question. I will explore the feeling and get back to you!
@luxuriousmistake

On the lowest resistance levels the top end feels like walking through heavy air. On the higher resistance levels it feels more like molasses. The feeling is tough to capture in words but I will say it feels good! I have used several ellipticals and stairmasters since getting the Bowflex and the M6 feeling is still my favorite. Let me know if you have more questions.

I'm curious, since you've had it, have you noticed any problems with any parts?
@luxuriousmistake

It’s been about 11 months and no issues with parts. We did notice a squeaking noise after a while and needed to grease the rollers. That is all. Still my favorite cardio machine in the gym besides the Stages SB20 smart bike.

I'm not crazy about the roaring wind turbine sound. Is it supposed to cool you off while using?
@luxuriousmistake
It doesn’t cool you off… it creates the resistance. I find the benefits outweigh the noise. It’s been almost a year and I still use this machine almost daily. I love it. YMMV

Do you still like it a year later? Has it been reliable?

Yes I still love it. It has not let me down. The only thing I've had to do is grease the wheels once. No issues at all.

Hello, did you consider the Total Max?
@luxuriousmistake
We did consider the Bowflex total max trainer but decided against the screen. Our iPads are better for that purpose when we want to workout with a screen. Also we love the motivation of the speedometer and calorie burn rate of the analog display on the M6 max trainer. YMMV.

Juli here. heartrate is complex so I can't say for certain. Suzanne is more fit than me so her heartrate tends to stay lower. I typically like to pedal harder and do HIIT workouts. Suzanne prefers lower intensity cardio. HIIT workouts should stay under 15 minutes preferable. This is why I love the "14 minute max interval" Bowflex workout. Other than this, we stick to the manual program so we have more control over the resistance level. Suzanne stays on resistance level 0 or 1. I have started using resistance level 2-3. The Bowflex can get as intense as you want it to be. The faster you pedal, the harder it gets. This is why we love it. Also posting in English in case others would find this helpful.
