Weiwuer zhu/Uyghur bowl dance by Sunling School of Dance. This dance is absolutely gorgeous and very feminine. I remember the first time that I did this dance (which was 6 years ago, wow...), my dance teacher said that seeing this dance made her want to go on stage and dance with us. =)
And to all those who are curious... the porcelain bowls are balanced on the head without any props. At a certain point during the training of this dance, everyone broke at least one bowl. Good thing it's during training and not on stage. Lol.
Edit: Okay, to those who think my dance teacher was "shameless" in putting her name there, please consider the fact that this DVD was intended for girls in my dance school. It was a recording of our dance recital, it was not meant as a political statement nor to promote my teacher as some great choreographer. All the girls who danced this knew there was an original version and we all tried to be as good as the original dancers. Furthermore, it's my teacher's name up there because she was the one who modified it and taught it to most of the girls in that dance (Lily and I learnt it from the lead dancer in the original dance). 编排 has a slightly different meaning from 编导, which means choreographer. In this case, what it's expressing is that my teacher was the one who put it together, as in, she was the one who taught it and trained us. She never said that she was the person who choreographed this, so please consider that before you label her as "shameless".
