A superb demonstration Paul, by the master of the Hollowing King. You, and your HK 75 A produced a stunning bowl. Also showing a great way to save wood by using a glue block. Take care Mike

Turning oak is more stubborn than a mule. I bet you won't be turning oak anytime soon. Turned out nice

Why use a scaling tool when a bowl gauge would be more effective? I would have liked to see you swap the back of the bowl too.

Thank you for your comment Mr. Smylie. Many accomplished wood turners have made this similar statement to me. "I really like the fact that I use one tool from start to finish, I remove wood faster and more accurate than I have ever with bowl gauges. The six tools I used to hollow with before The HK that cost about $700.00. They lay unused in drawer now. Your tool, HK-75 was less than $300.00. There is always the safety factor in the HK tools that is also very important. If you would like to order a tool sir, go to www.toolsbycrabtree.com

I'll give it a miss for now. Each to their own. The finish bo. El looks impressive and I guess that is what matters

It’s all scraping. No cutting. You can see at the close-up shot all the tear-out. Whatever time you may save in removing material you lose in sanding.

Looks impossible without a expensive chuck. Can't see spending $280 for a chuck on a twenty dollar lathe I'm trying to restore.
