Makes for easier application to each stance. The combination of Orthodox and Southpaw is essentially the Square Stance.
@kendrickjg

Soviet style boxing preaches a lot about fluidity in the stance meaning being able to go from orthodox to southpaw in an instant. Rigidity in stance leads to a less versatile fighter. This square stance leads to more fluidity when fighting on the inside (as this is where this type of fighting would be taking place) as it allows you step around your opponent and get the angle in whatever stance you need without shifting a lot of bodyweight.

Hello Coach Frolov, Please tell me why you instructed to look into your eyes? Does this help the boxer to see punches coming ? If so, is the boxer focusing directly into the opponents eyes, or simply in the area of the eyes, using peripheral vision to see blows coming? Thank you!
@29slowjoe
Жыл бұрын
You don't really want to look at the eyes. More the shoulder and upper chest area. Basically both eyes centered on opponent without having to turn your head.
