Tony was a good tough fighter but he was way outclassed with Sugar. He had zero chance 😐

Floyd Mayweather as a welterweight had zero power. Ray Leonard had the kind of power especially in his left hand, that was truly concussive. No comparison here. Leonard was an all around superior fighter to Mayweather. He fought better competition, unified his division and unlike the cherry 🍒 picking Mayweather, Leonard. Fought all of his main rivals IN THEIR PRIMES. He didn’t age them out or marinate a fight for 6 years or wait for a rival to slow down after being through wars. He fought them when they were in their 20s, their athletic primes when it counted.

I'm listening to SRL book and watching dl his fights right now. He mentions how he had taken tomato can fights between the super fights. I'm a big fan now, back in the 80s I wanted to see him lose.

AKA a tune up. Seemed to work well, he already signed the Benitez fight. All the greats have padded stats vs tomato cans and taxi drivers.
