@@thetbird. Sometimes true. Sadly some refs do bring their biases to the mat. In these big collections of matches by WinnerVSLoser I have seen some examples of refs clearly favoring girls (check out this match 3:29:05 - 3:35:02 for example) and some who clearly are biased toward the boy -- a few with some awfully quick pin calls on the girl. We don't need either of those types of refs. And we don't need girls messing up boys wrestling either IMO. 😁

Do doubt she was too heavy or he wasn't strong enough. He relaxed on all his techniques to initially pin her. That is dangerous cause she can resist him and wear him out through out the match. Get him exhausted and easily pin him. Yeah women can be sneaky, they don't fight like men. He needs to develop a strategy to get a pin as soon as he gets a plump girl on her back. A double chicken wing roll will work if he secures her hands very well.

Ya I find it hilarious as well. You can tell they weren't even going full 100% on the girls as well 🤣. I wonder who thought this was a good idea, and/or what the point of it was. I don't think guys really have anything to gain here, damned if you win, damned if you don't. No glory in beating a girl, I would rather have better competition to triumph over not to mention how awkward it would be for a guy regarding where to touch when wrestling women. You can tell some felt uncomfortable. But ya its pretty funny, and the results weren't exactly riveting. Maybe some of these woman watched too many disney movies growing up where they actually thought they stood a chance 🙃? Some folk really do be delusional these days. Also looking at the guys in the audience they just look straight up bored. Like why are we still here...just to suffer?

The last match starting at 21:11 is a good example of how difficult it is for girls to win or even be competitive at the higher weight classes. I'll guess this match was either 138 or maybe 145 lbs (or more)? The girl in this match is actually a pretty a good wrestler -- she knew how to use her body and weight to her advantage. The boy, on the other hand, was a pretty average or mediocre wrestler -- maybe he was a freshman? He had few wrestling ideas and his only advantage really was his strength -- although he was also pretty quick. Whatever, he was not a particularly savvy wrestler -- e.g., in one of his efforts to turn the girl over for the pin he got his body almost parallel with the girl (23:49) and she almost turned that pin around on him! Lucky for him time ran out in the period! He made the same mistake later near the end of the match (29:01) LOL! The girl used all her considerable wrestling skills just to avoid being pinned but she was on defense the entire match. The boy was just too strong for her to mount any effective offense. Also, it looked like that boy was in less than adequate physical conditioning -- he looked to be very tired only halfway through the match and he seemed exhausted at the end? I had the boy winning 7 - 0. I also thought the ref (28:39) was simping for the girl -- disgrace.

It happens. One girl on my father’s team was a black belt Judo champion. Competed internationally. She found wrestling as a way to increase her fitness. There were a few boys who saw her as an easy win, and ended up getting pinned. It’s a rare case, but hilarious to watch their fragile male teen ego buckle to the idea of being pinned by a girl. She didn’t win a lot of matches but she won enough for the other teams to take notice by the end of the season.

The match starting at 13:55 was also interesting. Again you had a girl who was a solid knowledgeable wrestler going up against a boy who seemed to be younger and certainly less experienced? But her superior skills were nullified by the boy's greater upper body strength (but not too impressive for a boy?). The girl was skilled enough to lock the boy down with a leg ride for much of the second period and she tried her best for almost three quarters the period (16:57 to 18:24) to turn him on his back with a nice tight half nelson but he was too strong for her. You could see the frustration on her face (17:43). 😎 The boy on the other hand really had no effective wrestling stratagem on the mat -- he just overpowered her on two take downs to win 4 - 0. You'd have to call that match a simple demonstration of boy power -- the girl was frustrated and beat at the end.

The match starting at (8:13) appeared to me to be a case of two accomplished wrestlers -- looked to me that both had similar skill levels? But again the boy's strength advantage was just overwhelming and way too much for her to handle. She could not do anything with him and she was reduced to spending the entire match and all of her energy and skill just avoiding a pin. She was so upset at being tossed around and pounded on the mat that she made a public display of her frustration (13:05) 😀 In the end she lost by major decision 0 - 16. I thought that she looked exhausted at the end (13:53) -- another example of Boy Power. The coach who put her in this match made a mistake.

The boys may have managed to ‘win’ but in some of these matches it’s clear who would be the boss in the relationship, except that girls don’t even want to be seen with a guy the same size as they are - let alone one who is smaller or weaker than them. Equality (what’s best for them) is too important to them.

@@moontiger4543 I knew that if enough days passed Someone would finally agree with me. It seems pretty standard that girls won’t date or marry a boy who is smaller, shorter, or weaker than her. What I conclude is that challenging gender roles, and efforts to reduce spousal abuse against women, have limits. That limit is found at the micrometer such efforts might bump up against a woman’s perceived self-interest.
