The Windsor/Detroit Bozo played by Art Cervi will always the clown I grew up with. He played Bozo from 1967-1984. Also, that cowgirl puppet at 3:05: the true inspiration for Pixar's "Toy Story Jessie?"

Bozo was a nationwide phenomenon. Some states had the budget for larger sets, games, and acts, and others could only afford like what you see on this version.

It's from a mid-1960's version from Boston, Massachussetts according to the barely readable closing credits.

This Boston version with Frank Avruch as Bozo ended up becoming the nationally syndicated version of the show. In New York on WPIX, they cancelled their own local version and instead aired the Avruch version instead throughout the 70s (long after it went out of production).

I feel like this is the forbidden memory from my past. Like wow. I was always afraid of clowns and this show is definitely why. Such a different time. This whole video feels like a fever dream.

A great, wholesome show that would NEVER be allowed in today's woke society.

@@Mark.G475 Yeah woke. Our woke society is really sick. If it's wholesome and pure it won't be allowed. Everything nowadays has to be twisted and perverted in one way or another. Take clowns for instance, innocent and once beloved now turned into homicidal maniacs!
