Wow! I used to watch this show every Friday night back in the day. As a teenage enamored of movies, this was a fascinating look at Hollywood and film-making. And what a pulsating, high-powered theme song by David Rose! It's fantastic!

He was a friend of Bob Grant(yes, the talk radio host) and his family as they were growing up in Chicago. Another tune famed by Mr. Rose is "The Stripper."

In French, the opening and closing titles, "le générique" of this series, is classically American, and is a very valid reference point in any studies of tv and its evolution, of the late 60s - early 70s feeling and theme that this gives.

Out of all the regulars from both seasons, only the 3 starlets are alive as of Sept. 2018, they're in their 70s now. Even the young boy (see season 2 intro) is deceased.

I just locked up Gary Dubin who played Mark Grant he passed away in 2016 at 57 so sad. I remember he guest starred in several TV series over the years, Land Of The Giants, Adam 12, etc. He made his appearance on Bracken's World I think midway thought the 2nd season when his mother Marjorie Grant was killed off, and David Evens left, Leslie Neilsen assume the role of John Bracken. Yes just the three hopeful starlets are still alive.

Dennis Cole, the All-American blond kid guy, had, in fact, a son, Joseph Cole, who was murdered during a holdup attempt. (born 1961 - died 1991) Dennis Cole himself died, of thus far undetailed sources, in 2009. A significant series, with a hidden tragedy-to-come, to one of the principal actors. A poignant tv history milestone

Despite being too young for the show (3rd grade), I watched Love American Style because it aired on a non-school night. It appeared on ABC Fridays at 10:00 PM (eastern), the same day and time as Bracken's World, which aired on NBC.

If your talking just about time slots, yes Bracken's World was in the same time slot as Stark Trek. In 1969, NBC also cancelled one other hour-long series called "The Outsider" with Darren McGavin. In the fall, The Bold Ones and Then Came Bronson also premiered on NBC. So if it wasn't Bracken's World airing Fridays at 10pm Eastern/Pacific, it could've also been the other two shows mentioned. The decision to cancel a show and the decision to fill the time slot with a new show are two completely separate things. I certainly understand the passion of many Star Trek fans. I, myself enjoyed the original series. At the same time, I think it's just a coincidence and nothing more. Thanks for responding.

I remember this show, vaguely, watching a few episodes as a kid. This isn't the theme I associate with it in my head, though. There was a slow, kind of dreamy song that started, "In this world, there are many worlds." And went on from there. I'm sure it had to be this show and it was a great song. Maybe just for the pilot? (Hah! Found it: kzitem.info/news/bejne/sYJ33KOMraiCgIY )

I guess we'll agree to disagree on which theme each one prefers. The David Rose-composed theme was from the first season. The link you posted, which was for season 2, was also composed by David Rose with lyrics by Marilyn and Alan Bergman and performed by The Lettermen. Season 2 open and close: kzitem.info/news/bejne/s6FomoqVfKmComk Thanks for writing.
