I love how when you mix a virtuoso jazz pianist with Radiohead you get something that sounds like it was composed over 100 years ago.

100 years ago was big band, boogie woogie, a lot of trad jazz. This incorporates elements of modal jazz and third stream jazz, which didn’t come into being until the second half of the 20th century. The contrapuntal elements give it a fugal quality, which might be why you think it sounds archaic

Also there’s a lot of Philip Glass in this version (gradually shifting looped passages) which is late 20th century classical
