Changing your own brake pads and brake wear sensors can save you hundreds of dollars. This seemingly complicated job is actually pretty straight forward with a little bit of patience and the right tools.
A few years ago I took the seemingly terrifying plunge to try doing the job myself. That first time it took me most of the day but after doing the same job on a 997 and another 996, I'm now able to do both of my front brake pads in less than an hour. Tack on another 30 mins per wheel if you also want to replace your rotors.
This is a really fun job and any amateur wrench'er or car enthusiast. As ever, work at your own risk and be careful! If in doubt, as a professional.
