thanks.. Hel brake lines are sweet Top Tip: these days Brembo 34mm M4's are 'cheap as chips', as S1000RR bros trade up to Brembo stylemas.

Very nice video ! Super informative, thanks a lot ! I recommend the Magura HC1 master cylinders conversion if you want to go the extra mile to achieve excellent breaking performance and feel. Much nicer and cleaner look than the ugly OEM master cylinders .

Nice to do, but not really necessary 😕, original brakes on my Roadster are quite sufficient. Actually they are very good Brembo callipers.
@thatrninetguy

You're right Marko, they are sufficient for day to day riding and the stock calipers are very good. BUT, if you're doing the occasional track day or if you ride hard, these S1000RR calipers make a difference.

I do ride hard often, but honestly I don’t do track days, to much money. But on the open road where I can, when I do ride hard original Brembo calipers are just great. No problem of any kind.

Are the standard lines not fully braided? Is that rubber hose from the abs pump to the T for the calipers?
@thatrninetguy
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, all lines are braided with the section that goes from the ABS pump to the T piece under the lower fork brace covered in a rubber sleeve for protection against abrasion or possibly heat?

Quick question, how did you make your headers look so colorful, did you blow a torch around it or are they aftermarket?
@thatrninetguy

Hey, Marcos. They are Akrapovic titanium headers. The colour is just from the exhaust heat.

Hello sir, I really appreciate your videos, thanks for your effort . I have a spare tank as well and I replace them occasionally. I wonder how you solve the fuel cap issue. I have to unscrew the cap and reinstall it to the other tank each time. I saw an interesting cap there. Would you be so kind and give me suggestions on that? Cheers!

you invested a fair bit of money into that r9t, just curious why you are still running the standard heavy tubed rim/tyre on the front?
@thatrninetguy

Because I can't find a matching front! Haha. I thought about a set a Galespeed wheels but I like the BMW rims. I'll just have to keep looking.

Hi There, What about the rear calipers, did you upgrade those as well? Will the S1000RR rear calipers fit the rear R9T?

No, I left the rear stock. Not sure if the RR's fit but I'll certainly look into it.

Hi, can you tell me a bit about your Ohlins front fork cartridges, I assumed you just changed the internals? That’s what I plan to do soon, front TVT cartridges and a better rear shock by Nitron. Did you maybe film the process when you made the swap?
@thatrninetguy
3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Marko. This is one job I didn't do myself. I wanted to but I couldn't be bothered making or buying a spring compressor and the other specialty tools needed to do the job. I took it to an Ohlins suspension specialist who did the swap for a few hundred bucks. If you search KZitem, there are videos of people swapping internals - maybe not on a R Nine T but you'll get the general idea of how it's done.
@roverroko306

@@thatrninetguy thanks man I know I already watched many vids on this topic. My problem is exactly that I can’t find the procedure done on the R9T… I know it’s the same procedure and tools for most of them, but it would still be helpful to see it done on our bike. Tanks anyway. So how happy were you with this upgrade, has it made a big difference?

Have you considered exposed air filters, I think they look brilliant, not sure if it has any effect on performance

G'day, Grumpy. Sure have! I reckon they look brilliant too. BUT, I'm concentrating on performance so I'm a bit worried if I chuck on those pod filters it may mess things up. Never say never though...

G'day, Nick. I picked them up at a motorcycle wreckers for AUD $500. Running a standard master cylinder at the moment but I'm going to go for a Magura 15mm as soon as I find some cash!

@@thatrninetguy Very nice. I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain. Why the 15mm over the 18mm?
@thatrninetguy

@@siaramkcin From what I've read, the lever travel is shorter and the force needed to brake is higher compared to OEM. I'd like to keep the feel as close to stock as I can so it'll be the 15mm for me.
