The “other” brand 😂. Nice. I agree about HBX being a better value out of the box, but I’ll say that a lot of people will appreciate the ease of part support Arrma brings to the table. Have also seen from other videos how the Grom, in typical Arrma fashion, is very easy to work on. The diffs come out in just a few screws, plus hex hardware. It may boil down to how much the Grom attracts a following of aftermarket support.

I agree, and that will be a big appeal. Its a big appeal to me, being able to go to your local hobby shop and pickup parts. But I will say, in the 2 years I've had this hbx, I haven't had to replace anything. Its stock, I haven't even done maintenance to it. I just continue bashing with it.

@@therchotspot Yes, HBX makes very good vehicles. My son and I have a couple that we drive around in the front yard with and he beats the hell out of his 16889 and it rarely breaks. We’ve also had ours for 2.5 years and he’s only ever broken the rear drive shaft and just a couple of days ago the servo finally went after about the 200th cartwheel/somersault. But it’s now out of commission for a couple weeks waiting on a direct replacement servo coming from China.

I got my Granite Grom 3 days ago. I love alot of things and hate a few things. But call me crazy, but love when I hate things, because it gives me a reason to upgrade!!

Awesome video! I have a few haiboxing trucks and love them. I was wondering if the Grom was worth it. Thanks for the info, very good video!

These handle brushless so well imo. Should’ve launched with a blx version. Maybe they’ll do that eventually.

Hopefully! I converted mine already, video on it soon. I think they wanted to keep the first version cheap to see how it does. Im sure they will make it brushless

Out of the box the HBX is a better performer. But it falls way short with hardware and parts availability. Also Arrma will be providing metal upgrades for the Grom. Metal shocks will be $40 a set.

Parts availability I can agree with. I'm not sure about hardware. The parts in the HBX is pretty good. As mentioned in a previous comment, I haven't had to replace anything on mine after 2 years of ownership. Even after letting my kids play with it. But I do like that if something does break, I can go get parts for my local hobby shop that day to fix it. Thats is a big advantage for the Grom

I'll tell you the truth. I think Arrma shot themselves in the foot by not making it brushless. Because I'm gonna pick the brushless every time.😂 OK everyone have a great day and don't let off the throttle. P.S with the non name brand you seem to get more. These name brands seem to give you bare minimum.
