I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO IMAGINE FOR ONE SECOND WHAT THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE F.D.N.Y. IS? ...JUST FOR ALL THE NEW APPARATUS AND EQUIPMENT ALONE!

Why's it called Satellite?
@scottvandenham6816
4 жыл бұрын
I think satellite means it is an extension of an engine, with its large-diameter hose supply an large deck gun. No pump.

It's two rigs in one like a quint is 4. It's an engine and a foam truck with a metric ton of hose

In fact, I just remembered that the 1st-generation Satellites were part of the FDNY Super Pumper system of the 1960s-70s. Have a read of John A. Calderone's book on it.

Skyler Fire Good morning Skyler, I had mentioned to J.J. The hose load difference between Sat 1 & Sat 3. My question is, why is the Brooklyn Satellite using 3 1/2” hose along with the 5”? Verses the Manhattan Satellite is using all 5”. I’m guessing that they all carry high-expansion foam. The foam generator on 3, do they supply it with just the 5”? Thanks, from a retired engine chauffeur !

Another Beautiful Rig for the FDNY! 👍 I have two questions Skyler.How many New Rigs is the FDNY receiving this year of all types if you know, and second I've heard that the FDNY will be receiving or getting a Bronto Skylift, Is there any truth to that? Just curious, Thanks.

@@OfficerJake4 Thanks for the info.I actually was aware of that but I read somewhere about FDNY getting a Bronto Skylift and I though that would be unusual considering the FDNY has used tower ladders for years.Once again Thanks for the information.👍
