Night of the Demons is 35 years old! I remember watching it on KZitem at my second house I searched for the dvd for a long while It's not meant to be high art maybe that's why it made a decent profit but ultimately got negative reviews when it first came out Linnea Quigley was a big 1980s horror star being in this and Return of the Living Dead, she also married one of the practical effects people Amelia Kinkade who plays the villainous Angela, her aunt was actually one of the Golden Girls Rue McClanahan The movie was almost called Halloween Party until Carpenter's producers of the 1978 movie threatened litigation The characters are 80s cliches as you'd expect and some of the acting is stiff but there's fantastic gore and makeup effects for those patient enough to get to the good stuff And that rocking soundtrack matches the tone The synthesizer score by Michael Dennis Tenney adds to the spookiness too Some nice camerawork that resembles Sam Raimi Plus there's no hint of racism as typical horror movies go Thanks to home video sales the movie found a much bigger audience Campy, cheesy, with a side of comedy and punk rock gothic ness and this actually gave me a nightmare I guess that proves the movie is doing its job, after all it later spawned 2 sequels even a remake

Especially when they rip off people's junk. Just the other day, I put out an old TV for a friend to pick up, and along came Bigfoot, gave me the finger and stole my junk TV set!

"Neither kid. Its cause she can suck the chrome off a trailor hitch." You know, I would oddly respect a dude who could fire back with a good, solid zinger like that. Golf ball through a guarden hose would have also been acceptable. Im just astounded the black dude survived in the end.

I rentedthis movie in the 90s when I was stationed in Germany. (army) Me and my buddies in the barracks were really shocked that the black guy lived, and I say that as a black guy myself.

This film.... yeah it might be totally 80's but with the exception of two characters, everyone is just a total piece of shit. I know in a horror movie, character likability is a mixed bag depending what the writer is going for (you either cheer or you cry when someone dies depending on if you like em). In this film I was like "Oh crap... he died..... yaaaaay......" The few I did like survived though so kinda good cause they were at least decent characters who didn't frustrate me with how shitty they were. The intro is a total slapper though. That music and the animation is EPIC

Yeah and even with 2000s unlikable characters had that 2000s charm to it. With this movie, they are annoying

Wait, the black guy lived in an 80's horror flick? Hmmm that's the weirdest thing in the whole movie
