Michael Maclane - it’s refreshing to hear a Chargers media outlet call out Telasco who has been a mediocre GM at best. I couldn’t agree more with your take. I would add that they don’t use their TEs enough. The loss of Linsley has had a significant impact. I think they would of been better off keeping Salyer at tackle. They should do what they can in the off-season to hire Harbaugh & get an upgrade @ GM.

Everything said in this video was absolute facts. But one thing that we as fans have been saying since the mike injury, we have to try some new things on offense. We cannot play the same offense as we normally do with mike, it just doesn't work without him. Instead, we need to try things like using derius davis more in the backfield or even just getting him on streaks to see if he wins with his speed like jalen guyton. And QJ man, I can't say enough, this Chiefs game confirmed that we were right. It's not QJ, it's justin and kellen. Justin needs to look for him when he needs a bail out from these pressures, like he did with mike, and kellen needs to run more plays FOR him. Get him on a slant or a short in route, get some players downfield, and let him do what he does best, dominate in open space. That was his biggest strength at tcu, not his jump ball or route running. Even using him like how some tight ends r used where they get the ball short and just get a few extra yards. An extension of the run game to open up the actual run game.

This loss IMO is almost entirely on the coaching or lack thereof. 1. Staley keeps obstinatey trying to make his scheme work when it is clear that his players cannot execute. His ego has got in the way. Simplify... 2. Moore has to take more control of Herbert and direct his play. Herberts confidence is down and his audibles are sometimes poor. Moore needs to get Johnston and Davis involved cos Herbert is ignoring Johnston and Herbert has Allen target fixation. These condensed sets are not working. 3. Get Herbert out of the pocket much more to buy time and create. He is taking too many pocket sacks Thats my two cents.

I think he’s talking about his scheme. He’s been pretty stubborn up until now, sticking to what he believes would work. I think he’s now willing to make things simpler for his players to follow. I hope that entails letting Derwin James loose. Our defense plays better when Derwin James is free to get involved as he sees. Gone are the days of Derwin ALWAYS around the ball. We need that back. Blitz Derwin. Have him in the box, have him EVERYWHERE.

TRADES: Keenan Allen: hes the GOAT, but let's face the fact he is getting older. We need that freed up salary cap to invest in the new W.R Corps, perhaps with QJ and Palmer filling into Allen's and Williams shoes. P.s he deserves a ring, let him go get one. Mike Williams: he's amazing, however injured wise can't stay healthy. (He's debatable for trade, I have no opinion) Austin Ekeler: dudes a beast but recently starting to show signs of inconsistencies. BOSA: Holy shit he is a black hole of salary cap wasted. He is the Ryan Mathews of our time right now. He can "potentially be a beast," but this dude is made out of glass. Any body else feel free if you think who else we should trade or crucify me.

You need to PASS to set up the RUN, not the other way around. I was so pissed early in the fourth quarter, we're down a touchdown, and we run 3 straight times and punt. Against the Chiefs, man. You have to make every possession count, and we reach into our playbook and pull out the old 2 yards and a pile of dust play. 3 times in a row. Jeez.

Forget running the ball man this oline needs to stop giving up sacks and pressures so Herbert can throw the ball. QJ has been open a lot on the film and Herbert never has time to find him because a hand or 300 lb dude is in his face chasing him. I think some plays should be schemed where Q is the first read or at least the second because his burst off the line is great but this is frustrating how we cant use him.

That 94’ SB appearance, we started 0-4. I don’t think we are a top 10 team right now but we have the capability to contend. My issue on offense is our OC. We always start the first half well but Moore gets predictable and vanilla. We don’t have that killer instinct. Also with Moore, like with Dak Moore is putting our QB in positions for injury. Dak played less than 10 games in 3 of the last 4 seasons. Same will happen with our QB eventually and shorten his career. On defense, our run D has improved but poor play from back end. D is getting better though, offense needs to step up.

We have someone who might be a very good Interim Head Coach. I'm tired of watching Staley screw the pooch. If you have everyone close to the line - they might beat you deep, but it takes time to get deep and you should have a pass rush that doesn't allow the time. If you line up way off the ball, the QB can just throw it almost instantly and the Pass Rush doesn't have time to get there. It's 3rd grade math and this man screws it up beyond any recognition. It really is coming down to making and missing big plays. That Everett drop in the endzone when Herbert threaded a sidearm rope to him was huge, because it turned into an INT the next play. Same thing last week with that INT to Gilmore. The O-Line left micah 1v1 on 3rd down and led to the sack that sped Herbert up the next play leading to the Gilmore INT. That O-Line HAS to get better, but Herbert has to just suck it up and start making plays. He’s making too much money not too

I agree with alot you say but this season is over. We have less than 30% chance of playoff and as of now we are in the end of the 7th spot. On defense, we just don’t have the personel up front to pressure the qb. (Besides tuli, everyone is kinda slow). DBs do have to play closer to the wrs and I think we should play Henley over Murray for coverage ability. Our OL gets beat too easily, hopefully Corey comes back soon or he should just sit out the whole season. Herbert should sit out and heal up the finger because clearly it’s bothering his throwing ability. Honestly would suggest the chargers to tank this season. Grab Brock Bowers and focus the rest of our draft capital on *fast/explosive DL & (1) top DE. Trade bosa and Ekler. I don’t understand why chargers don’t play spiller more tbh, he’s actually moves the line better than both our backs. Herbert needs to figure it out with QJ. Besides QJ’s physicality, he can really turn out a Justin Jefferson type player for us. Also pls get us a new coach. Someone who is defensive minded so we can create turnovers and more possessions for our offense. Kellen Moore is solid OC.
@Ali-wi8bx
11 ай бұрын
I think there is still hope. This team is too invested in to tank. Too much cap and too many stars. Just need to reset, not the roster, but the coaches need to reset their schemes or get out of here. Kellen is really helping this offense, but he needs to involve these young guys more. He involves them, but not to their strengths. He has derius running normal routes and QJ running deep all game. Both are strongest when they get the ball in open space. And Staley, boy is that man something. He needs to use this defense how he uses the offense, with aggression. Derwin James is our best player, and you know why, his strength and aggression. Trust our DBs and run more man, and include more random pressures like blitzing K9 or Derwin more. More pressure = less comfort for qb = less stress on our (for some reason trash) secondary = turnovers. That's why the chiefs defense dominated us. Pressure on herbert = worse mental = worse throws = turnovers

You have the best Chargers channel in the world! Your videos make my last 40+ years of chargering feel worth it--it is an abusive relationship--thanks to the Chargers organization I know depression well. Come on Eckler isn't a good runner--unless it is an outside run or screen Eckler has been ineffective. The tight ends and running backs aren't chipping or blocking--you got that perfect. I hope things get better in the next 11 games but I wish your videos focused more on the issues with the defense. As a chargers fan I am use to seeing the offense having 200 yards by second half but for Mahomes alone to have 200+ yards by second half is shameful. Staley can not be a head coach and a defensive coordinator at the same time--no body can wear both of those hats. Wade Phillips was an accomplished head coach but he became the Chargers defensive coordinator and invented the 4-6 defense--Staley can't invent a popsicle stick. The 1994 Chargers had Bill Arnsparger for DC and he had a tough defense they would never allow any quarter back to get 200+ yards by half time--well except Steve Young in the Super Bowl but everyone knows that game was fixed since hype week when Deon S. had the SD playbook and was bragging about it.

Yes, the D needs to improve, and no reason why they shouldn't. They have the talent, esp. on offense, to be a serious contender every year. I've been taking the Chargers for a couple years, but esp. this year, to end the KC stranglehold on that division. He needs to reset his coaching better yet THROW IT AWAY. Its a little late for him to do do damn reset that needed to be done a long time ago. He is full of it SAME mistakes same late game offense not able to score in second half SAME BS. Same OVER PAID guys always getting hurt same dumb exscuses. Says the right thing in interviews but dose not have the back bone to lead this team.

He CAN turn this season around but will he? I honestly doubt it. He has had too many empty promises and I don't trust what he says can be instilled to this team anymore. 😞⚡

@@Michael_Maclane I hear you bro this is just a bad coach SAME mistakes if anyone can turn it around it would have to be the overpaid SO CALLED super stars that we can never depend on until it's time to collect a check. Derwin and Joey got paid now they look like they don't have the same passion for the game. Sick of it

This is why i dont care the age for keenan. Hes always been playing at his best every season (when healthy)and he is a dangerous WR1. So glad i have his jersey and just hope he retires as a charger 🙏⚡️

Should have kept T billy. Should have kept drew tranquilizer. Should have kept nachnu nawosu.. should have snagged jalen Ramsey to team up with. Derwin instead of jc Jackson. Should have drafted better. . But also i feel like the script might have us coming back strong after this loss.

Fire Staley, keep Telesco. TT annoys me, but the roster is always much more talented than half the league. TT ranges from a top ten to a top 15 GM every year

How are we resetting when Staley said in his latest presser, that he will still be calling the defense. Let Ansley call the defense, and just be a Headcoach.

Herbert is losing his confidence like Alex Smith did at the 49ers before Jim Harbaugh, and Staley is to blame, and Telesco. I wish the Chargers would be wise enough to fire Staley now and Kellen Moore be the coach and tell Herbert to sit out and let his finger heal, we're obviously not going to make a playoff run not with this team this year. We can't have Herbert lose more of his confidence. But I would like to hear your opinion on Zion Johnson and Pipkens, I feel like Zion Johnson is overrated and Pipkens has regressed. Pipkens only played hard last year because it was his contract year, and last year was his only good year, and that was because we had Storm Norton, who was the worst tackle. We would've been better off finding a more consistent RT than keeping Pipkens. During the off-season, I would wish the Chargers would make a rest o-line, and just keep Slater and Linsley.

"We need a reset". Correct. Starting with the COACH and the GM. This is a lame-duck year with Staley and Telesco gone after the season. RESET NEXT YEAR. This year ...... it's a .500 team.

Joey Bosa needs to go. Been overrated for many years, now. As for Staley he is an atrocious coach and needs to be fired immediately. Defense has been an issue for years. Spanos family will spend money but always misspend on players that don’t pan out. Never can figure out how to spend their money wisely. Biggest problem for team, stop chasing name players and keep and develop the players you have.
