Yeah ofc there’s nothing wrong with that, what the creator failed to include is that there was huge controversy because brandy Melville allegedly only makes xs/s clothing is because the founders had sick ideas of pre pubescent girls and only wanted girls with petite bodies to work there. They allegedly had a place downstairs where plus sized and black/poc workers were working. The room was cramped and they weren’t allowed to work upstairs because they’d ‘destroy the brandy Melville image’ which is fucking disgusting (many past workers have said this). I’m not 100% sure if it’s been completely debunked yet but there’s so many allegations against brandy Melville it’s disturbing. The founders keep their identity’s well hidden so it’s hard to tell or trace.
@tonyatrait
16 күн бұрын
there are plenty of xs-s size options in most stores, meanwhile it’s rare for a store to go past 2x. And if they do carry plus sizes, sometimes they don’t even put them in store, forcing plus sized consumers to get them online. The plus sized options that do exist, even in plus size specific stores like torrid, are usually like auntie style clothes that cover all parts of the body and rarely fit into today’s styles. Its cause ppl like the creators of brandy Melville don’t see fat ppl as humans and don’t wanna “waste resources” on making plus sized options, meanwhile the average size of Americans has only gone up. Fat ppl deserve quality options too.

@@tonyatraityeah except as someone who was an xs/s in America xs/s is not actually that small. It does not fit people who are very slim/petite. That’s size is still geared more towards mid sized just in the lower end of mid sized so it doesn’t actually end up fitting girls who are smaller than that. When I was smaller than average it was an absolute nightmare trying to find anything that fits. The commenter is right there should be stores that have true xs/s and small sizes for people that are smaller than average because most stores do not have clothes for you, just like they have plus sized stores because if your bigger than average most stores also don’t have clothes for you. Brands make clothes geared towards the middle because that’s where most people are so that gets the most sales. That being said I don’t support brandy and if there is a store that makes smaller clothes they should not be bullies abt it.
@Anabananaz770

I understand that the petite people need clothes too but making the enterance that small isn’t just excluding plus sized people, it’s a fire hazard, makes it near impossible for people in wheelchairs to get in, and it is just unnecessary to make it that small. What’s wrong with them only making clothes for smaller ppl? There are brands only for more overweight people that don’t promote smaller people using their brand at all, so what’s the difference? There are just as many people who need smaller sizes as there are bigger. Some women or girls might not be as curvy or don’t fit into size small and might need xs or xxs🤷♀️ Not to mention, if they’re popular and don’t feel the need to have deals or send free stuff to ppl that’s ok. They don’t have to. They don’t have to have free shipping either. They’re their own brand and they can do whatever they want. There’s no need to hate on them for just making smaller sized clothing🤨 Their designs might not even be original but they come in smaller sizes which is great! One of the girls from the other group was like “let’s go to brandy Melville!” And we where all like “oh ok” and on our way there the girl who suggested it looked me dead in the eye and was like “oh you don’t have to come if u don’t want, cause the clothes there don’t seem like stuff you would wear, yknow” GIRL. I went anyway js cuz I can and me and the other girl in my group (not my bsf the other one) where the ONLY bigger girls there because literally every girl in both groups was an extra small. Then the worker kept staring at me and the other girl. And the girls dad went to the shop next door and she looked like she was going to be on the verge of tears. I was pissed at the girl who bodyshamed me. And I hated the store. The clothes where ugly and not inclusive at all.

It’s a brand’s right to choose and cater to their preferred demographic, so the xs/s size things isn’t that bad. I mean, there are brands that cater to plus sizes, so there shouldn’t be discrimination for the opposing side of the size chart. What gets me is how basic the clothing is. Sure, for a long ass time, I had to wear granny style clothes because no brands really made trendy plus sized clothing. But, I’d take the rhinestone top with the weird color patterns over a basic crop top. At least it has personality. The clothing looks rather plain, and cheap, you could get better stuff at Hollister or American Eagle. At least then you know the seams won’t pop after one go in the washing machine.

I am a 12 year old girl and have a small waist long legs but average chest size and brandy Melville is one of the only brands that fits my size perfect I love it but yes it probably doesn’t have much range for bigger people and also the one I went to the door was average size To be honest people shouldn’t be protesting and complaining about wanting bigger sizes, as people like me with a small waist don’t complain when a clothing shop doesn’t have my size. If you’re body doesn’t meet the sizes of a shop just find another. There are so many places with bigger sizing these days and to be honest bigger clothing is honestly taking over.

Sweetie, you can find something that's not as boring and repetitive as brandy. All of the clothes look the same be glad you didnt spend your hard earned money to look basic. Ive looked at the website and all it is white basic shirts and pants🥴🥴 you can find at gap or old navy and do better its not even like they making one of a kinds to be so EXCLUSIVE its mass produced find somewhere that actually wants u as a customer

@@Qdelilah I found a pair of low wasted, flare cut, grey ish black washed jeans with a stripey texture. They are by far my favorite jeans and i haven’t been able to find a replica anywhere else. Along with a really pretty white maxi skirt and a whole bunch of cute tank tops and shorts with different kinds of lace and bows. Could i probably find a singular top that looks similar for the same price at old navy? Probably. But, brandy is an easy access small store that advertises their clothing well in my eyes. And the outfits only become basic when you yourself are basic and/or don’t accessorize right. So…😬

@@Qdelilah also. Isn’t it a bit hypocritical to tell me to go shop at old navy or gap when they themselves are also mass produced companies that have no other goal than to take the money of a specifically targeted customer and it wouldn’t make much of a difference whether i choose to spend my money there or at brandy?

@@Qdelilah Well I like layering clothes depending on the day and i was mainly just there for home clothes. I don't really care if I look basic but imma say that I don't seeing as I get glares and side eyes for not dressing like everyone else my age (meaning leggings and a dang crop top 24/7) but oh well 🤷

I don’t know, I’m an extra small and it can be hard to find nice clothes in stores. They always seem to have larges and mediums in stock. I mean, it’s a similar concept to a plus size clothing store…

The most basic, white bread, suburban clothes I've ever seen. I don't think people are missing out on anything and they're too expensive anyways, especially for what you're getting. There are plus size only stores and it can be hard to find small sizes sometimes, but they shouldn't label it as "one size fits all." What's weird is their hiring process and their creepy ass CEO.

Yeah it'd be fine if they just sold small clothes but that's their brand, their brand is shaming women who are not really small or anorexic. I've even heard but not confirmed that they don't want black people shopping there which is well a little racist if true.
