The Brazilian Amazon APD GP Grouped Project is an initiative of brCarbon, a Brazilian climate tech that aims at forest conservation on private properties located in the nine states of the Legal Amazon.
This is a Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD) project, in the category of avoided planned deforestation (APD), audited annually by an independent institution accredited by Verra.
Landowners who waive the right to legally clear their forests for 35 years can access financial resources from the voluntary carbon market by becoming brCarbon partners. Part of these resources is used to improve the quality of life of traditional communities that live in these areas and also to preserve biodiversity.
In this documentary, produced by San Francisco Filmes, you will learn a little more about the project and the work of brCarbon in communities in Acre that used to live in conditions of near isolation.
Follow brCarbon's social networks and keep up to date with the evolution of the Brazilian Amazon project, which aims to achieve the conservation of more than 30,000 hectares in the Legal Amazon, benefiting more than 700 traditional Brazilian riverside families.
