I'm glad I missed this BRB - I listened to the first Foo Fighters album on Vinny's recommendation and I had This Is A Call stuck SOLIdly in my head for probably 2-3 weeks. It's a fucking awesome song but my brain drove me crazy with it!

There are only 3 artists that get dedicated playlists on whatever streaming service I use: Rush, Foo Fighters, and Red Vox. Foo Fighters are the quintessential post-Grunge Rock band and you can’t go wrong loading up their greatest hits album to experience that era of Rock.

For anyone who likes the first Foo album, I highly recommend you check out the rough mixes for that album. They're on KZitem and on the Internet Archive, and imo they sound much better. Alone + Easy Target and Weenie Beenie sound so good. It also includes some great B-sides and Outtakes like Winnebago and Podunk.

Can also reccomend going back even further to Daves solo album "Pocketwatch" under the name Late! - it was made while he was still in Nirvana, and keeps a tonne of that sound

@@RiposteBK Yes. Absolutely. Pocketwatch might be my favorite Dave Grohl project.

Why does the gun remind me of Han solo’s pistol?

It's an antique Buck Rogers gun, so that's probably why. The Star Wars blasters were probably inspired by it, or inspired by something else inspired by it.

Its form factor looks somewhat inspired by the Mauser C96, which Han Solo's DL44 was built off of. Compare the grip angle, boxy design ahead of the trigger, barrel hanging off the end, no slide, etc.
