Panettone is a sweet, delicate Italian egg bread that's especially popular during the holidays. If you have a bread machine, you can make panettone using the following recipe.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup of water
3 gems
2 teaspoons of panettone essence
1 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons margarine or unsalted butter at room temperature (softened)
6 tablespoons of sugar
4 tablespoons of powdered milk
4 cups of wheat flour
2 teaspoons of dry yeast
Half a pack of 5g flour improver (optional)
Filling
1 cup supplyable chocolate chips (TIP: leave it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before using).
or
Half a cup of raisins and
Half a cup of candied fruit
Note If you are going to make it with chocolate chips, use the bakeable type, as the regular ones melt and mix with the dough.
