Kay, bit of advice, if you want your food to turn out right you need to follow a recipe to the letter, if it says ‘tablespoons’ don’t use ‘dessert ‘ spoons’ 3 dessert spoons roughly equivalent to a tablespoon Don’t over work the dough and don’t use that much flour

Hi Kay! Love the videos and thought I'd suggest a recipe i learned while I was in France- you boil a crumpet in water for 2 minutes, drain it off and serve it with gravy, sounds daft but it's lovely! Keep it up :)

Why can’t you ever just follow a recipe, especially with baking you need to follow it to a T, that doesn’t mean add extra ingredients for “good luck”. It’s not hard just to follow EXACTLY what’s written. Also, I don’t know where you get these “recipes” from but they just aren’t right, even if your trolling the recipes sound so wrong. If you read more of her comments you'll see that people are trolling her. In one of her recent 2024 videos, someone sent her the recipe for banana based hollandaise sauce. Same video comments, a recipe for chocolate coated raw potatoes. Raw potatoes dipped in cocoa powder then dipped in melted chocolate and pan fried. 100 percent confident that both of those recipes just plain wouldn't work or turn out absolutely vile.

Couple of tips for bread: Don’t empty half a bag of flour onto the worktop. You’re supposed to knead bread to develop the gluten, which in turn stops it sticking. If you add that much flour to the worktop you’re basically no longer following the recipe. When you said you thought it needed a bit more flour I had a stroke. Proof the bread. You’ll never get any sort of bread texture in the final product if you just splurge it together with flour and dump it in the oven on a baking tray. I’m not sure if these recipes are just trolling anyway - I’m waiting for the revelation that Kay is actually a Michelin starred chef 😜

Brioche (pronounced "bree-osh") bread is supposed to be a wetter dough, you added far too much flour when "kneading" it. Also it needed proving so the yeast could rise to make the bread a lighter texture. It is normally shaped into little buns not a crispy flat bread thing.

3 teaspoons is a tablespoon, I don't know what a dessert spoon is lol 16 Tablespoons in a cup, two cups in a pint, 2 pints in a quart, 4 quarts in a gallon, 128 Tablespoons in a Gallon, one tablespoon is an Ounce and a pint's a pound... so... 384 teaspoons in a gallon! also 28 grams in an ounce, 1 gram is 1ml so 28ml in a Tablespoon, 9.33 grams/9.33ml in a teaspoon, so 3584 ML in a gallon, 3.5 Liters. You gotta know that an average egg is around 1/5 a cup and 1:2 yolk to white ratio, or 1 tablespoon Yolk, 2 tbsp white. So 3 egg yolks are 1/4 cup and 2 egg whites is a quarter cup. Large eggs are around 1/4 cup and 1.5 whites from large grade A eggs are 1/4 cup. but 2 yolks are still 1/4 cup from large eggs. All this precise talk goes out the window when I tell you to get 27lbs of butter I'd cut a cube in half and take a scoop that felt like 2lbs out of the other side.

She put down _wayyyyyy too much_ flour on the table. When your stirring it in the bowl, it's not going to be thick like dough. You lay it out on a thin spread of flour & work it in till it becomes smooth & not sticky. Once that happens then you _absolutely_ have to let it rest before you pop it in the oven. 🤯🤦♀️

Hello :) A little tip add a tiny bit more flower to the dough till it comes together but don’t add that much to the work top because all off that flower goes in to the dough so your drying the bread out the more flower you add to the work top, so put a little bit off oil on the work top instead off flower because then your not messing with the ingredients :)

U added too much flour. Brioche is supposed to be wet. Bit like a cake batter

amazing post-brexit bread Kaye! haha BREADxit more like! Not a fan of fance european breads only good proppa british bred for me and the mrs. BUT we did enjoy this recipe and made some sarnies with leftover fried rice. Keep up the good work! Lots of love xo
