For all you new players feel free to ask anything about the game while veteran players are welcome to leave their own advise. Everyone should suggest new topics I should cover next.

Great guide! Always limit the source materials to get the best quality of items. But: I've done a lot of testing on ranged weapons and came to a different conclusion. I'm using Xbwos for ALL of my settlers! Heavy versions where possible. Did some math comparison as well to prove if I'm right. It does have some advantages and disadvantages. PROs: - higher DpS in total - always shoot first - always being able to defend against enemy Xbow archers - little to no damage taken on the settlers, even on doors (as enemies are dropping far before reaching them) CONs: - very slow fire rate - therefore slower XP gains on archery skill

Thank you Luftwolf and especially for the detailed description of your tactics and how you employ crossbows in your village. I do agree shooting first and the longer ranger are good advantages a against the raiders. Because battlements change the battlefield I see how you found more use for them.

I agree with this and I do the same. Xbow on all the settlers. Enemy archers do not close in when they are in range. So you need to match their range. My defensive situation: tower in the middle with 4 roads going in each direction. Enemies will use this road to close in. On the edge of my Xbow range i start with the traps (metal ones to keep them in place). Melee fighters never get close to my gates. At this stage of the game, I see no reason why you to risk melee fights. Sometimes I have to leave the tower in case of trebuchets, but those do not show up that often in my playthroughs. Even on higher difficulty and survival mode.

I've enjoyed this and all your videos on Going Medieval/ Thank you for posting this and all the hard work it must have taken! I realise English is not your first language (and your English is great) so just a friendly tip: there is no plural for armour (or armor if you are American; they tend to drop "u" in words like colour, amour etc.). It's similar to the word bread. You can't have "two breads", it would be "two slices of bread". Or "clothing". There is no "two clothings" but "two items of clothing". Similarly, you can't have "two armours" it would be "two suits of armour" or "two pieces of armour". So an example covering all of this is "Do you have armour? If so, how much will it cost for one suit of armour or two suits of armour?". English is a rather inconsistent, illogical and sometimes very difficult language, to be honest. Sorry if this comes across as me being pedantic, I really just wanted to help your otherwise excellent English.

Hello yorkyswe and welcome to my channel. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the advise and specific corrections. I tend to bring some grammar from my native language into my script writing and end up with mistakes. Like my heavy use of "the" often where it's not needed. Feel free to correct me anywhere you notice mistakes, I am always trying to improve. I wish I had more opportunities to talk live with English and American speakers as that always helps me notice my mistakes.

If you want your people to fight each other for training, draft them and tell them to attack each other. Be careful, they can still die from friendly fire so don't make them spar when they have very low hp.

I tell you, if you don't have your entire city geared up with flawless Steel, the later raids on harder difficulties will outright destroy you. Also, I have noticed you can litterally have 1 heavy armored unit with a sheild in front of a doorway and up to 3x 2hnd weapon people behind them to kill raiders coming in much faster. Evidently 2hnd can poke from behind the 1hnd people, but not other way around.
