Great breakdown. There's not enough video breakdown of good throwing mechanics for position players in baseball and softball on youtube IMO. I'm glad you are helping to fill that niche.

Thank you. I wholeheartedly agree, and this is the first of many. I have a ton of infield footage and all types of throws just from a week of filming. If you ever have suggestions of in game actions to talk through, shoot em my way so I can be on the lookout when I’m at a game.

Loved this video. Can we get a breakdown of the throw to 2nd from the knees?

I don’t have footage yet of in-game player throws, but It’s on my list for sure. Going to more games this weekend so I’ll get some soon hopefully.

Great video and I plan to show this to my daughter and our 2 other catchers at our next practice.

Awesome - it’s huge for kids to be able to see how high level players actually play the game. Hope it helps!

It’s a video camera with a very long zoom lens. Cameras do good slow motion - not as slow as the speed in these - but they don’t have long optical zoom.

Can I send a video of my grand daughter and you break it down and help us get her better. 7th grade student. Been catching from age 8

What is the difference in the throwing motion, 1. One has elbows up during separation and ball facing down 2. One has elbows up during separation with ball going from glove to the 90°angle I have seen this being a friction point among coaches

neither are exactly right. Look at the baseball versions you see in there - they're the best representations of ideal form for either gender.

Adobe Premiere Pro - that was an error in editing by letting that slip through!

Great tips! Just curious where can I get more clips of catchers throwing down for myself to slow them down?

I know this video has been around a while but these girls are leading with their elbow. In your other video the arm is supposed to be straight. Love to get a follow up on this idea/video.

the girl in the orange pants throws very well - her mechanics are excellent. I'm not sure what you're asking.

@@SnapSoftballI guess I was looking at the snap at the end. Your other throwing video with the monument in the background talks about not doing that 12/6 spin snap at the end. Just wondering if the catchers are doing that a little in these clip?

At 9:29 the girl with orange pants just before the release her forearm goes back and her elbow is forward. Is that from shoulder mobility training?
@DanBlewett
Жыл бұрын
its just from consistent throwing from a young age. its not exceptional; it's normal for baseball and softball players.

@@DanBlewett Thanks that’s good to know. Does this mobility have advantages? Would this be something good to work on in the off season with younger kids?
@SnapSoftball

its necessary but not really something to work on - its developed by throwing.

What would you say is the biggest throwing mechanics mistake that cause shoulder pain as in tendinitis?
