Small nod to Walt, when he's cursing out Skyler on the phone, he's being brilliant. It sounds like he's cutting loose on her and finally taking out all his true aggression, but in reality, he's releasing her of any wrongdoing in the eyes of authorities. By making it seem like she was being held hostage she gets a better chance in regards to prosecution. The best part is, Skyler knows it given her expression as she holds the phone in her hand. Also, don't forget, at the BEGINNING of the season, Walt is turning 52 at the diner. Then later, we see him as he's turning 51.

The episode 'Ozymandias' is based on the poem 'Ozymandias' written by Percy Shelley. Here is the poem: I met a traveller from an antique land, Who said-"Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand, Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed; And on the pedestal, these words appear: ‘My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!' Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away." The poem is about how even the greatest empires fall and become lost to time. There was a statue of the king Ozymandias (Ramesses II) that was discovered in the 19th century but was all broken. In his time Ramesses II was a very powerful king in control of a vast empire. This statue was a once a symbol of his power, but now all that remains is this broken statue that symbolizes a long ago collapsed empire and a long forgotten reign of this mighty king. In the poem the line ‘My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!' is ironic because it's an inscription on a statue that is meant to convey power, but on this broken old monument it just looks silly and shows how this powerful King of Kings and his mighty empire was destroyed by the ravages of time and "nothing beside remains" except sand. To get the full experience watching this episode, you must watch Bryan Cranston's reading of this poem. The video was aired on AMC right before the episode premiered. It was meant to set the mood for this episode. The video is available on YT, titled: 'Ozymandias As Read by Bryan Cranston'

Seeing everything happen the way it does in these episodes where Hank and Gomez have Jesse working with them to take Walt down as well as Hank and Gomez arresting Walt only for moments later Jack and his gang to show up after Walt called them and then says to not come when he realizes Hank is there and then for them to all get into a shootout seems a bit like everything Walt has done has lead up to this point. And then in the beginning of Ozymandias we see Gomez has been killed and not long after Hank is killed by Jack. And while Walt has no doubt done a lot of terrible things, the fact he was going to give Jack all his money so Hank could live I think says a lot. Despite their differences in the last half of the season, Walt never wanted Hank dead. It sucks Jesse is now a prisoner and has to cook for the Neo-Nazis now, especially after Walt told him he watched Jane die and could have saved her. And for Walt to go on the run after giving Skyler an out with the police with the phone call in that she wasn’t a willing participant and that Walt forced her to launder his money for him with the car wash which is probably the nicest thing he’s done for her in seasons only for him to have to go on the run afterwards… this show has been a wild ride and while many complain about how the Nazis are the villains of the last half of the season, Walt has been the real villain after Gus died. His ego is so big after killing Gus that he believes he’s untouchable and that’s what makes him the villain of the last season. Great reactions guys, I hope you’re both doing well. Take care!

Took me a rewatch to figure out when Walt was being a monster on the phone with Skyler, he wasn’t being an asshole, he was buying Skyler plausible deniability. He knew the cops were listening and wanted it to sound like Skyler put up with it under threat.

Such an amazing couple of episodes, especially 14. All the acting from everyone is just superb. Hank stayed true to himself, gotta love that at least but it was so sad to see him go. Great video as always, have a great one!

It's interesting how people have reacted to this series. When I first moved to Albuquerque, my apartment was only a few blocks from the car wash in the show. I walked almost every day and when I did, I passed in front of it each time. I lost count of how many times tourists had stopped there and asked me to take their picture in front of it. Then, a few years later I was in Paris, France for one of my extended visits (I used to live there) when, as I was buying an ice cream cone from a young lady with a cart who was selling them to tourists in the Tuileries Garden in front of the Louvre, I mentioned to her that I was from Albuquerque. She immediately started asking me about Breaking Bad, wanting to know anything I could tell her about Albuquerque. It seems it was her favorite TV show... even in France.

The scene between Walter, Skyler, and Jr. always makes me cry a bit. I was a senior in college when my parents got divorced. My heart was so broken and I felt such a heavy burden for my younger brothers. One day I was with them downstairs and the yelling just got so intense, my dad sounded like he was in tears, and in the heat of the moment I think my mom pushed my dad and he fell over. I was so distraught that even at 32 just thinking about it still brings me to tears and that scene always brings back those emotions.

Fun fact about this episode: Holly was actually saying momma in the final scene. It wasn’t in the script at all; that’s why Walt looks so shocked (because it’s Bryan Cranston who is shocked). They just decided to keep it because it was so shocking, but so golden.

I mean, saying it's all Marie's fault at 35:45 is a bit harsh. As far as she knew, Walt was arrested and Walt Jr was gonna find out anyway. Better to find out this way honestly. That's what I love about this show. I see almost everyone's point of view, and find it hard to properly hate anyone. Well, except the nazis of course
@floridaman.813

But it’s not Marie’s place to tell Walt Jr. She didn’t need to force Skylar to tell him at that particular moment. Let Skylar tell him on her own time, it’s her son
@herminbean

@floridaboi8132 true. But also, you have a nephew and find out the parents are mixed up in drug dealing and casual murder, I think the usual etiquette is thrown out the window. I doubt I'd hang back and say "yeah, it's up to the high profile murderer and the person who's defending him to use their best judgement". It is a lot more complicated because we know everything, but honestly, if we saw everything from the perspective of Marie, I reckon most of us would want those kids out of harms way

@floridaboi8132 maybe physical harm. But finding out your dad's been arrested for all this stuff through the police or the press or any other way other than quietly from your mother would probably be pretty harmful. I don't really know what people think not telling Walt Jr at that moment would accomplished

'Ozymandias', the name of the final episode, is a reference to a poem written in 1818 by an English poet named Percy Bysshe Shelley. In the poem a man finds a giant statue shattered and half buried in the sand. Only the feet and base remain intact. On the base these words were written "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye' Mighty, and despair". The poem illustrates the inevitable decline of rulers and the destruction of their great empires. This episode is the destruction of everything Walt hoped to build. His entire empire and family are destroyed in a matter of hours. Everything Walt claimed to care about is taken from him. Many believe it is the finest episode of Television ever.
