The Misunderstood Basketball Player Once upon a time, there was a talented and skilled basketball player named Caitlin. She had been playing basketball since she was a little girl and had always dreamed of joining the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Caitlin practiced tirelessly every day, honing her skills and perfecting her game. Despite her dedication and talent, Caitlin faced challenges when she tried out for the WNBA. Some people believed that as a white, cisgender woman, she did not belong in the league. They argued that her race and heterosexuality prevented her from being fully accepted by the predominantly lesbian African American players in the WNBA. Caitlin struggled to understand why her race and sexual preference should matter in a sport where skill and passion were supposed to be the only criteria for success. As Caitlin navigated through the trials and tribulations of trying to break into the WNBA, she realized that prejudice and stereotypes were still prevalent in the world of sports. However, she remained determined to prove her worth based on her abilities and hard work, rather than on superficial factors like race or gender.

The fact that they keep hiding behind that "put the best team on the floor" bs is crazy. The literal mission of USA Basketball is this: "As the governing body for basketball in the United States, USA Basketball is a worldwide leader in the sport through competitive excellence in international competition and by promoting, growing and elevating the game at all levels while ensuring that athletes and other participants compete and develop in a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment." ...promoting, growing, and elevating the game... That is their literal mission. Its on their own website. Arike was right to remove herself from the pool, there's more politics than anything. Only three teams get to have players on that squad, and if you aren't a part of those teams, you don't get an opportunity. I mean, that’s the thing it’s really truly disgusting as of late certain players basically telling Clark that she needs to come out and tell her fans that they’re racist for following her like she supposed to denounce the fact that she’s white if that ain’t racist I don’t know what is I mean people are really confused about what’s racist and what’s notthere’s a spot for everybody at the table don’t act like is better than the other we all bleed the same at the end of the day and we make too much about a color of skin and it needs to stop because the people that race bait and those type of politics want us because were easier to control when we’re divided than when we’re united

The NBA commisioner focuses on his objective, which is to improve the game by increasing viewership (because it equates money). The WNBA commissioner is out of focus. Her focus is shortsighted and petty, such as winning gold and politics. Girls, you've been winning golds since the existence of basketball, yet your viewership is low. Golds cannot improve your viewership.

Caitlin needs to start her own BB League with the Commissioner..Exclude all the Wnba players who she does not want..Should be about 95 % of them..Start with All new players..Who get in not for Being great but for having good sportmanship and Morals And Cuteness ahead of Ability!... Men will watch that League!

Never watched a WNBA game or the womens olympic basketball team or had the desire to. I'll tell you now, that if CC had been on the Olympic team, I would have tuned in for sure and supported the whole team. Now, I still have no desire to commit my time to the womens team. Sorry, just facts.

Remember I said dis..CC gonna be on da team n she will play.. injuries happen all da time..not wishing dat none of da 12 player roster but ppl have made the Olympics due to injuries.. "next man up" they be saying or woman in dis case.. a player could get injured n still get a nice bag..js🤔🤫😏🫡😎 everybody could be smiling regardless..if i have already been to to da show 2 or 3 times n struck gold every time dat potential bag is worth a lot more than the metal. .come on now🧐

In four years she will have stats to justify being on the team. The Olympic teams is an earned privilege in my eyes and a popularity placement. Every spot should’ve been competed for and earned.

I don’t think her style is exciting to watch but that’s me. Though the WNBA needed a major punch in the arm and she’s it! Though the WNBA as a whole is completely jealous, envy and hateful towards Caitlin Clark

The people selecting the team picked the 12 best players. In Clark's last game, she had as many turnovers as points. Isn't it supposed to be the 12 best players and not who's the most popular?

Caitlin Clark is watchable, it's refreshing to see a woman play basketball that is not gay that is not butch and it's not ghetto, or she is the person I want my daughter to grow up to be, and I hope one day she quit that league and joined the three The Big Three, they were really take advantage of a popularity, the more popular you are the more Rich you become😊

While I'm a big fan of Caitlyn Clark, olympics is different. I mean, has the US team ever included a rookie? Not getting selected for the US team doesn't seem to be too crazy. I know there would be a lot more attention for it if she was there, but that would seem just like pandering because she's super popular.

This is ridiculous. She had only played 2 or 3 games when the decision was made. She is a rookie and therefore has multiple years to be on the roster. She is cool with it and it is wrong to think she must be on for ‘popularity’.

She played 10 games and is struggling but she should be on the team because her fans will not watch any game that she is not in? So she shouldn't be guarded talked about it's the coach her teammates and the league fault she struggles in the WNBA? Let's bow down everybody to Cc or get boycott ed? She doesn't have to earn anything like everybody else!!!

Rookies have been on the team in the past and people were put on the men's team for popularity reasons only. Even the charter for the Olympic team says their there to help grow the popularity of the sport.

@@MauriceThomas-zn7zk Like that legacy player going for sixth because she was on the team as a rookie (or the four other players that were on the team as a rookie)? This is the only team that doesn't have a first or second year player. Sabrina was going to be on the team as a rookie but got hurt. Why didn't those six players earn it? As far as struggling, she has double the defensive blitzes on her of any other team (team not player) and is often picked up at half court so her stats suffer but if she isn't that good why are teams guarding her like no other? Her team is also working against her as we clearly saw this week. That impacts stats as well.
