Man, dragonspine's music is so beautiful. It hits even harder when you learn about the lore of the place. The suffering of the people of sal vindagnyr, helpless against the might of celestia and the hero who came back only to witness the death of everyone he vowed to protect.

Celestia doesnt Nail places for no reason. There is definitely something that was going on there that hasnt been covered. It actually is pretty fascinating because the Nails seem like this terrible thing and youre introduced to the concept at Dragonspine where it just seems like this cruel joke from any of the lore you can find. But then by Sumeru you learn that they do have a purpose. And it makes you look back at Dragonspine and wonder what in the world were the people were up to on the Summit.

When I heard your commentary about the child-like feeling, emphasized by the choir, it instantly reminded me of Durin, how he actually had a very innocent and pure heart, but people misunderstood him. That's why I feel like there's a sense of loneliness too in the Dragonspine's soundtracks. I don't know that's the case with the reason behind the creative decision, but it's just heartwarming, or evoking emotions to say the least. I know Dragonspine has been released long ago, but this video really makes me realize how good Yu Peng Chen's works are. Thank you Marco!

Dragonspine OST is still one of my top favorites. I remember back in 1.2, I was fighting for my dear life looking for warmth in Dragonspine, I stumbled across the a cavern and lit the bonfire. I sat there for a little respite and the music was playing against the majestic yet imposing backdrop of the icy cave. Couldn't help but shed a tear or two at how indescribably beautiful the whole experience was. I said "eff it," and immediately went to the shop to buy a Welkin, thus breaking my f2p status. Been buying Welkins every month since; they more than deserve my money. It's an experience money can't buy and I say this as an avid gamer playing video games for three decades across every gaming platform.

Dragonspine is one of the few soundtracks I love everything about it. You mentioned how it gives off a sense of warmness or being at home because that was done on purpose - this song was to evoke the feeling of yearning, sadness, and the mysteries surrounding this dangerous place. For context if you haven't explored everything there Marco or put the pieces of info in place, Dragonspine used to be a mountain of life as in it was filled with greens and not snow. A civilization thrived there, but one day Celestia deemed so otherwise and sent down a nail onto the mountaintop that you can still see ingame. This nail spread biting cold and made Dragonspine into an inhospital, dangerous, and cold environment. The people there stayed and hoped things would get better...but it never did. Now it's just a lonesome and sad place of a destroyed civilization centuries ago that used to breathe so much life for who knows what reasons divine punishment was administered onto them. Hence, the song works as a winter piece for the mountain, but with context it's a powerful way to tell of the sad, cold fate of a long lost era where life used to blossom in happier times.
