@@GEricG No, it's just that the Newcastle fans were lambasted in the media for daring to criticise Bruce. You had people in the media basically telling Newcastle fans they were being ungrateful and they should be happy they have the fortune to be managed by a manager of Bruce's caliber and they basically implied that nobody could have done a better job than Bruce with what he had at his disposal. The Newcastle fans were painted very badly by the media and all they did to warrant that treatment was dare to suggest that the team should be doing better and would do better under a better manager. @@Jordothecat98 I agree with your core point there but not the conclusion. Bruce managed at dozens and dozens of clubs and nowhere did he ever manage to accrue a good win percentage. Aside from Palace where the sample size is really too small. His stats across over 1000 games with around 20 clubs suggests he is...at his peak best....a competent championship level manager. Fans of we'll over half of his former clubs will testify to the fact that the eyeball test comes uo with the same results. Repeatedly manages teams where the players lack fitness, passion, any kind of tactical awareness, low morale and poor results. Its very often joined with terribke fan communication and press relationships. If that's one club or two then perhaps you could blame the players themselves or the circumstances but at virtually every club he's managed theae have been the characteristics of his tenure and they have performed better both before and after Steve bruce than during. Steve Bruce f**king sucks at his job of being a football manager. He's chronically terrible at almost every aspect of the role and god knows how many good managers never got their big break because some numoty owner hired Steve 'dinner lady ' Bruce.

You have to ask why a successful CEO and Finance Director have both left since Slav got us promoted to be replaced by people Not up to the job. But still gets huge payouts after being sacked for poor performance. I can’t think of any other industry where that would occur. Don’t be surprised if he’s hired again in a few months though and then sacked after a few months and gets yet another big payout.

Newcastle Fan here just stating when we said Pardew was past it we got slaughtered, when we said Bruce was past it again we told we are bitter. Funny how things turn out.

Didn’t Bruce get you to 12th in the league under apparently the worst ever owner?

@@djrozzer7010 The team did yes, and he was manager at the time. But he didnt turn up for training sessions and constantly fell out with players. We had no system or style of play at all. So to give him the credit for that is laughable and doesnt change the merit of my statement.

Bruce even lost the sack race at school as a nipper, so this should've counted as a warning to the future.

So does that mean we Newcastle fans were right about him? I recently learned that when he was at Shef Wed, he would cancel training numerous times to go play golf. At the end of it all, his management career has been a joke, as a player, he had a very good playing career and he has given a lot of his life to football, however, there comes a point where you need to admit that it is time to retire. He was only getting worse as a manager and he has always been one of the worst managers, to begin with. The way he behaved in press conferences was that of a child and he constantly interrupts whoever is speaking to him. There is data on this man dating back to 1999 and I remember that year. I remember reports in 2001 of him not being loyal and falling out with people. Considering the kind of man he is and from what the past tells us if someone were to offer him a job, I'm sure he would take it as I believe he doesn't really care. I think this because of all the rival teams he has managed and the fact that he spouts the same crap every post-match and pre-match conference.

Think the guy is cleverer than people take him for, he keeps getting hired getting massive contacts, 8 months later gets payed more to fk off. Its literally win win for him no matter how bad he does. He got 8 million to fk off out of the toon.
