Agree. BUT.......the purpose of these debates is actually to hopefully tip someone to vote for your candidate who might be undecided. Or possibly change someone's mind from the opposition. Waltz looked weak...uncertain...stumbling and mostly frowning. Vance looked smooth. And since there was zero fact checking, it's only the optics folks really looked at....especially MAGA. The "Mr. Nice Guy" would have worked for a completely Dem audience, but in order to beat Trump, the Dems need to aggressively step up and loudly call things out. It was only that last moment that Waltz approached that level. This was a disappointment and I only hope that between now and when this is over, the Dems will step up and do what is needed to win this. Harris did a great job in her debate (IMO) .....we need MUCH more of that. Anyway, just my opinion. I watched some right wing wrap ups on this debate, and what was expressed is exactly what I'm saying here. They ignore content and only look for who looks "stronger".

The problem with Vance is his condescending, smugly disingenuous attitude. I did appreciate the fact that he didn't try to launch an attack on Senator Tim Walz like Trump tried to do with VP Harris, but his refusal to admit that Trump lost the 2020 election is proof thag he will stand behind a lie and that we, the American people, cannot trust him.
