"We "cannot stand the image of our religious leader" because he wrote that we're not allowed to see any image of him, as it would lead to idolatry. Most of us just want the image to be placed in an area where Baha'is are not forced to view it when they click through to find out more on Baha'u'llah." The Bahais believe in the oneness of humanity, they are against all kinds of prejudice, they believe in the unity of all the religions. They believe in the sacredness of humans regardless of their beliefs. They believe in the elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty. They believe that religion and science should work hand in hand as humans have a spiritual aspect as well as physical , science on its own leads to materialism and religion without science leads to superstition, therefore there should be a balance between them. They believe that in order to have a truly peaceful world we do need spirituality that fosters morality. I recommend everyone to investigate the teachings of the Bahai faith without prejudice and find out about its visions.

Luke -Good point. We should just be true to ourselves and search for the truth and not blindly accept doctrines that we've been taught. If we have been "created in the image and likeness of God" then that attractive force lies within us in much the same way when you plant a tulip bulb deep in the cold, dark soil. Doesn't matter in what direction you plant it (you can even plant it upside down), it still knows what way is up to the light. If a little bulb can do it, why can't we? Anyone searching for that true light has to seriously investigate the Baha'í faith though, since this messenger who claims to have been sent by God, through his words and life has had a transforming effect on millions in all parts of the world - the tree is judged by the fruit it produces.
@madtownband

Tams Sanchez The problem with your statement is that just because a religion has had a "transforming effect on millions" doesn't make it any less bullshit. I've met Scientologists that will claim there life is better because of L Ron Hubbards teachings. It doesn't mean they're true. Every religion has a prophet who claims he knows something no one else does, of course none of it can be proven. In my opinion the prophet of Baha'i is right up there with Joseph Smith of the Mormons, just some guy who claimed divine revelations.
@BensonsHandyAndy

I respect your opinion and would take this opportunity to clear a few truths. The Prophet Baha'u'llah has a history none the likes of Joseph Smith he also did not seek out for himself the stature of prophet for gain or worldly compensation. He was of service to his fellow human being , believer or not. I respect that any person who believes other than I do is right. Because that is your belief and it only has to be true for you. As a Baha'i I respect other faiths and regard them as true even to the point I study so I understand. I/we do not evangelize in order to make others change their beliefs. As a human race we/I strive for unity with others. So diversity is normal. Separation due to indifference is .separation. Peace be with you.

While we all receive our guidance from a single source, the House of Justice in Haifa, Israel, our communities are often quite small. Many in the US have only a dozen of so families. There are, however, places where communities number in hundreds and even thousands. It must be remembered that this Faith is less than 200 years old, and already it is the 2nd most globally distributed religion in the world according to the Encyclopedia Britannica. By that measure, while our numbers are yet small... we are growing faster than any previous religion in their early existence.

Not too sure what you mean by that statement. Baha'is avoid all partisan political involvement. The are required to be obedient to the laws of the land in which they live, but not to become part of any political faction as all such endeavors are divisive and alienate people. As for political correctness... if you mean that Baha'is are polite and concerned about how others feelings and needs are bing met... Indeed. If you imply that we show empathy and good will towards others to appear correct for some political purpose, you have not gleaned the reality of what it means to be a Baha'i.

How are the Baha'i teachings politically correct - The Bahai Faith does not agree with gay marriage, we don't drink alcohol etc
@stylicho

@@raia9 exactly. The Bahai Faith isn't politically correct at all. If it was then women would be serving on the UHJ and gay marriage would be allowed. It just sounds politically correct because it was written that way almost two hundred years ago.

@@zafar78600 please investigate the Baha’i Faith as you will find that both The Bab and Bahá’u’lláh were Muslims and in fact direct descendants of Mohammad. In Quran, there are prophesies to both the Bab and Bahá’u’lláh and if you are able to read Arabic then you are able to understand it easily. The Barb’s full name is Siyyid Ali Mohammad and Bahá’u’lláh Mirza Hussayn Ali. Almost all Mullahs in Iran were the early believers and were brutally martyred.

Many can pray and write poetry better than their false prophets and without the call and effort to overthrow governments and legal systems (as was done by Bahai founders in Asia and Africa).

i am just now finding this video, I spent 2 years in Dorchester County in the mid-1970s , and In my free time on weekends I tried to go out with Ruth and Trudy to recontact Bahais in the southern most counties who joined the Bahai Faith in the the decades before, but had not been recontacted......I was dealing with my own personal problems at the same time. But I did what I could,,,,,The Bahais are not all saints, and part of the reason we find the Bahai faith is because of personal suffering which wasn't assuaged by our traditional religious culture, Before making a conscious decision to sign the declaration card. I was a very sincere and active Christian in my hometown, But you know there were missing pieces in the way it was taught and the way it was performed in daily life, I just noticed those things and didn't brush them off as just human weaknesses, Youth are not like that. Things are black and white. Principles mattered more than mercy and forgiveness, especially when you consider the pain on the other side,

These days I would say yes - historically in Christian societies there has been lot of racism. Segregated seats on buses, toilets etc in the south of USA few decades ago. Unable to marry outside your race or face a lot of difficulties if you do.

Probably you have heard that many Christian churches in the South that blessed slavery and segregation, the churches that supported Nazis and other Fascists in Germany, Italy, Spain..? That there are no female priests in Catholic church even today? By the way, Bahais also do not allow females to serve on their high council. We as human beings are still evolving - some faster than others.

Acceptance and genuine love is very different as one tolerates like a bad medicine while the other loves as one’s own family. Huge difference and this is the Teachings of Bahá’u’lláh which builds on Teaching of Christ and other manifestation to remind us again not to judge but to love each other enough to unite.

Some facts about baha'i: 1) Top leadership is all male. No women allowed in the UHJ. 2) baha'i faith began as a sect of Islam. 3) Baha'is goal is to become the government of all countries. 4) Alcohol forbidden, Marriage to your cousin perfectly fine. 5) Founder was a muslim with 3 wives.

I don't see your point int that, the founders of Christianity were Jews and yet you dont take Christianity to be a "fake" religion, Islam glory did not come from the arabs but from the persians, where the Shiite Islam was born. Baha'i Faith is in no way a version of Islam, to begin with the fact that there is no clergy, and that the writings can be found in paper and ink that its founder used.

Red Okami lol I do think christianity is fake too, but christians don't lie about their roots to trick Americans into joining a sect of Islam. Just look around you; the people you tricked into joining your group all left as soon as they found out the truth. You will leave soon, unless you were born into this, or unless you have some social issues as most Baha'is do.

TheWilliamMaster "Making women wear burqas" , there is no such thing as burqas in Islam , it something cultural in the Arabic culture and most Muslim women don't wear that shit . In fact , there is no such thing as "Hijab" in the Quran unlike in the Bible where if a woman does't cover her head , her hair shall be cut off . "Killing infidels" : If it so than all of the middle east will be muslim . But if you take a look back , you will see that the middle east is one of the most religiously diverse place ( different forms of Christianity , Judaism , Samaritanism , Mandaiesm ... . Take a look at this : www.onfaith.co/onfaith/2014/10/22/the-religions-that-survived-14-centuries-of-islamic-rule/34644 For centuries , People from different faiths were living together ( there were instances of persecutions and forced conversion of course ) unlike Jews in Europe where millions were killed in different polgroms and converted with force to Christianity ( Reconquista ) . You've got a bad idea on Islam my friend as it is a really beautiful religion yet really misunderstood in the west and this isn't new , it is a centuries old hate .

@-Blast

TheWilliamMaster There are dozens of verses calling to kill non believers in the Bible , if not , genocide . Also , the interpretation of a Quranic verse depends on : - The context on witch the verse was revealed to the Prophet ( pbuh ) - The wat how the verse is applied by scholars Most violent verses in the Holy Quran were revealed in specific circumstances where the were some fighting but the Quran tell us not to "Transgress , truly , God likes not the transgressor" 2:190 and "God loves those who do good" 2:195 . The language of the Holy Quran , Quranic Arabic , is a unique language and really difficult to literally translate it . Let me take an example of the "hitting women" that makes haters say that Muslims hit their wives ( in many muslims countries , hitting a woman is a crime unless you're taking a look at the most Hated country by Arabs : Saudi Arabia ) the word "Dharaba" in the Quran have more than 10 different meanings ( to leave , to travel , to set up , to give , to cover ... ) yet , backward Scholars , to impose their authority on Women , understood this as "Beating" . You need to know that unlike Christianity witch is a very very organized religion , there no such thing as "authority" in Islam , every Scholar have his own view and interpretation depending on the Environment and the culture he is leaving it and people just follows him . Some interpretations are even used for political or other purposes that can serve the interpreter (Isis for example)
