I really hate these types of statements; it makes humans seem like these pure innocent creatures "just existing in the world!". It obfuscates the fact that humans have literally decimated the planet and caused the extinction of thousands of species. We disproportionately encroach on every other species on the planet in a way that would be considered a human rights violation/genocide if it were done to other humans (e.g. Europeans in the Americas and the impact on Indigenous Peoples; Israel and Palestine; Europeans impacts on the Maori in New Zealand; countless other examples people treat with utmost seriousness).

Exciting to hear that, that must have been an inspiring visit! As for the name we gave to the rewilding landscape, the translation might be somewhat different, taking into account that the perception of what the area entails and how it resonates with people might be somewhat different at a local/national level and an international/European level.

Fascinating, to think that I heard about this project yesterday by a source that I recently checked out. He claimed that he was mistaken about lynxes being there but I know that one day, it will happen. Because their numbers have been rising over the past 20 years, there’s no question that either they’ll place them there or the cats themselves will recolonize the land as they continue to spread far and wide. @RewildingEurope
Thanks for you question! If you refer to the impact of the reintroduced grazers in the first place (as shown in the documentary), it's good to realise that we're still talking about a few dozen animals in total in a landscape of hundred thousands of hectares. We can be happy when we already see an impact locally on the vegetation, but that said, there's room for many many more grazers in this vast landscape. More generally speaking, there are no predators currently present in the landscape. It is expected predators will naturally come as many species are on their way to make a comeback and this, of course, would complete the trophic chain.

@@whs_p As I said, that horse is not a wild breed, it is a breed that was once domesticated and then grew wild like the mustangs in the US. I don't see the rewild thing anywhere. If something can go wrong, rest assured it will, especially in Spain, Murphy was an optimist. Spain is the European country with the most wild and varied fauna of Europe and it is also the country in the world with the most domestic breeds. This is not going to change the fact that all of this will disappear with the abandonment of the countryside and European Islamization. What I see is a team of people looking for European funds for the typical stupidity that no one, not even the experts, have requested. At the moment we already have a problem with Crimean Congo fever and other diseases such as scabies, we do not need to have more breeds in the mountains and pastures without control or possible commercial interest so that no one takes care of them and spreads them.
