It's funny how the announcers said that Claude Lemieux used to drop the gloves all the time. He actually turtled on the ice while Darren McCarty beat the snot out of him and bloodied him up back in March 1997. @@sjdrifter72 So what's your problem? I hate the Lakers in LA because they kinda screw things up most of the time for Staples, but besides that. We got Lemiux for a 4th round draft pick....we already have a hugely deep prospect pool, so that pick really didn't matter. Lemiux though has been a steal for us, he's already knocked Vilardi off the lineup and he's actively one of the Kings top 5 best player right now. There is nobody buzzing or creating more energy like that 4thline. I go to about every home game, and I always wonder "holy crap whose going this hard in the corner by himself right now" and it's Lemiux. Also we've had the chrome domes some like '18 we hardly ever wear them so calm down, it's not that deep, you can stand to see them for 5 games. (Seriously what was your point? That LA is gonna become a superteam like Lakers? Or that they'll be a failure like the clippers? Or that we'll disappoint like the dodgers? Or do nothing like the ducks and angels? @@regortex3364 I meant to say he wasn't a coward. Turtling is kind of weak especially when it is usually a one fight and done. If I was him I would have rather tried to fight and lost than turtle because of that hit on Draper.

@@one7decimal2eight - I think in the OTR interview with Lemieux and McCarty, Lemieux said that the first punch thrown by McCarty almost knocked him out and that’s why he turtled. Lemieux was a dirty player but effective, if you’re a hockey player and you’re not finishing your checks and trying to literally kill the opponent, you don’t belong in competitive hockey. He was an unlikable player, but so many very skilled highly competitive player are, like Brad Marchand for example. Players like Marchand and Lemieux win not the Lady Bing trophy but they are skilled warriors. McCarty thanked Lemieux later on when he had substance abuse problems so I guess he had some decent traits, haha.

Happens every 2-3 years. Not an everyday thing, but it happens regularly. There's a YT vid abt biting incidents that capture some of the main highlights. Agree with some commenters they should call a Biting penalty what it is, not a 'Match Penalty'.

I hope I’m wrong, but I think unfortunately the CBA may prevent a long suspension here.. there’s some weird places it has a max penalty. Hope this is severe enough to avoid that cap.
