This contorted chemistry between Hart and Austin - where the former became a jaded hero turned villain of the American masses while the latter became the reluctant anti-hero. I always think that Bret is someone who should have worked out his lines for his promos then rehearsed them like an actor. What he said and how he said it was usually believable but he always had a few stammers and stutters in his promos. A promo like this, if refined a little and delivered without any stammering would rival a Stone Cold promo.

People frame it as heel vs face but that dynamic often broken down when bret is involved, going back to the 80s. Bret vs. stone cold at WM13 was a badass vs a rage fueled maniac.
