Thank you very much! This is EXACTLY what was wrong with mine! We use it constantly as a time and energy saver so when it went down, time was of the essence. Checked on KZitem, found your channel, watched the video and BAM! fixed. I would say that if you take a few more screws out you CAN get to this board without damaging the cabinet, BUT, I would also caution that anyone doing this should be aware that the metal is NOT rolled on the edges and it quite SHARP, you will get cut if you do not wear gloves. Thanks again Sir! You saved me $300 and several days without my Breville, which I would of course buy again, but I would rather it be as a Christmas gift for my girls rather than a breakdown.

Many of those would be sent to the recycling center or Bin as it's better known as. Repairing things has always been a great idea, just think about the money you saved and experence gained over the years :-D. You are giving the greedy companys "The finger" for there built in obsolescence tricks designs. i guess the heating elements are fed with a mosfet on a heatsink and pwm applied to the gate to give in between tempratures.

These ovens are a disaster. I've replaced a thermal fuse on mine twice, and a rotary encoder failed the day before Thanksgiving; the temperature setting would only go down, not up. It's fixed now, but the replacement part didn't come in time for the holiday. If not for a power driver like 12voltvids uses, it would take forever to work on these.

I have a madam grille microwave. That's a microwave with a conventional radiant heat oven. Not convection. Has elements top and bottom. Can bake and broil. We use it pretty much exclusively as conventional oven. A regular microwave to nuke stuff. I don't remember the last time the unit was used in combo mode to speed up cooking by using heat to brown food and microwaves to cook. If I was using it I probably would use it, but that's not my dept. I got that one for free in 93 from a customer at the shop i worked at. Her husband had bought it for her and he died. She never used it for anything but warning coffee. Switch failed and fuse blew. Brought it to the shop was given estimate to change switches. She complained about being poor no money (husband was sole income) Asked if i could do it cheaper. I was on the ball and told her i had a used one I would let her trade in her old one for at home. She said great she would take it. I put a new primary switch and short switch in, new fuse in and took it home, grabbed the spare i had in my garage and dropped it off. When the boss returned the next day he asked where the madam grill was. I said customer refused estimate. It was nice being able to lick up at night by myself back in the day. Got lots of free stuff customers didn't want. Had the boss made the call and was told to dispose he would have had me fix it for free and then sold it and stuck all the cash in his pocket.

@@PaulaXism it's amazing how much money you can save by not spending it on something new every time something breaks. I've bought 6 new cars and trucks over the past 40 years and never had a car loan to buy them. Walked in with a envelope stuffed with 100 bills. Did it once with pinks. People in Canada might remember those if you are old enough. That was the infamous 1000 bill that the government recalled many years ago. I remember going to the bank to withdraw cash to buy my first new car and they gave me 10 "pinks" and the rest in 100s. They recorded the serial number if each note. I wish i could find the picture my mom took of me holding them all fanned out when I was only 23.

Currently working on my Breville bov845, very similar oven. The dang board has so much flex that line voltage arc'ed to the metal case and took out the diodes in the bridge rectifier and the top row of transistors. Luckily the front control panel is still good. I was able to replace the diodes in the power supply circuit but I'm unable to find which NPNs they use (top of the board next to the thru-hole resistors). This should be fun to figure out without schematics.. $300 piece of crap!

many tears ago i bought a nice pricey toaster oven, ceramic heating elements, and convection. It heated super fast, the convection worked great and cut cook times. then one day the on-off-timer switch(worst idea ever) died. The only place to get the part was Sears, for $85... plus shipping. No way in hell was i paying that! Even though the oven did cost over $200. I did think about bypassing the bad control and using toggle switches, but i didnt feel like messing with it. So i stored the oven, and bought a newer one. It didnt last a year before one of the heating elements just exploded. They sure dont make things like they used to! I looked recently at sears and the part I needed dropped to half price, but was out of stock. As always another great video. And who cares what it looks like as long as it works, and is semi-safe. Lol And happy holidays !
