Like the recipe structure a lot. Looking forward to trying it. Also your coffee selections, philosophy and overall design for the website and social media is beautiful. Hoping to try some Abstract Coffee :)

The grounds you show came from a setting of 2.1 on your Ode? Maybe it’s just how they look on the video but they seem really course for that low of a setting. Is that from the Gen 1 burrs? If i grind at that setting on my Gen 2 they are much finer looking.

nice video. Might want to update the description of each section. It looks like most of them say pour 55g

That's correct. 4 pours of 55g each time.

Was this a fellow ode with the original burrs or v1.1?

Based on the video released 2 years ago. I’m 100% sure it’s the original Gen 1 Ode.

I just think it’s strange that Fellow would create a grinder that doesn’t have enough range to grind for their own brewer (Stagg X). Especially if you’re trying to brew 20g of coffee on a flat bottom brewer, you’re grinding between 1 and 2. That gives you approximately 3-4 settings to work with.

Not really. You can recalibrate it if you wish and make it infinitely adjustable. I think you can to from 1.3 to 4.0 for V60 recipes, depending on the burrs you use.

@@wkarnofel634 own 5 grinders (EK to Commandante) and are super familiar with different burr sets. My Ode is calibrated to burrs slightly off touch at 1, but with the stock burr sets there are coffees I am still unable to brew properly.

Cool video and recipe. I always tend to prefer smaller doses over larger ones. What would you say the 2.1 setting is on a comandante like 24-25 clicks? cheers

Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video! Yes we prefer small doses too. It would actually be even coarser than that, we were in the 31-33 range for this recipe with our coffee.

@@abstractcoffeeroasters5282 wow never really gone above 30 but I'm currently using the cafec light roast filters which drain slower so I think this recipe would work very well with denser naturals

Still wondering why people are brewing light roast coffees in a V 60. There are about 50 other brewers ….I use a Kalita Wave… and Chemex….where the brew times are significantly longer. I have my ODE set to 3 for most coffees. NO one will address the elephant in the room…..the V 60 is not a great brewer for light roast coffees…contact time is too short…Even James Hoffman….the V60 sycophant….has admitted that immersion brewers extract better flavor from light roast coffees.
