I am so impressed with Kegland as a company (Kee and the entire team). These days it is so rare to see such transparency in communication with customers and also companies with such a genuine love for the products and services on offer (rather than just chasing the easy $$ through endless marketing campaigns). It is refreshing to see them take such pride in their products, and that they’re constantly open and looking for ways to improve the overall user experience. I myself got into homebrewing three(ish) years ago and feel like I’ve stumbled into the golden age of this hobby. Also, it just so happens that I also live just 30 minutes drive from their warehouse here in Melbourne (really hit the jackpot there!). Thanks David for bringing us this excellent content and for continuing to encourage more people to take up homebrewing!

So many things that he says just go against the new age companies that have "planned obsolescence" as a part of their core business strategy in extracting more money from the customers. This especially comes through when he talks about how they try to make most things compatible with an entire range. This just goes to show the fantastic ethos of the company, and the simple belief that if you do right by your customers, they will do right by you - in the short and indeed the long run. Well played, Kegland!

For Kegland: The only thing I’m frustrated about is I can’t get all these wonderful gadgets in the states yet!😆 I’ve got my gen 4 Brewzilla on order at Morebeer and I’m really looking forward to the pill and the temp controller. Sorry, can’t afford the fermentation chamber!

I just received the new Gen 4. I have a Gen 3.1.1. I have not done a brew yet, just run it thru a cleanup. I am very close to sea level. The temperature reading is way off, It is displaying about 6F lower than the actual temperature (I am comparing to 2 thermapens that are known to be correct and a inkbird). The false bottom is extremely tight, it was a struggle to remove it. I started with the outside, then grabbed the center and it actually bent when removing it. The upgrade to the handles on the lid are nice, but the lid fits loosely on the kettle. it also fits loosely on the 3.1.1, yet the lid from the 3.1.1 fitst perfectly on the Gen 4.

Hi Bruce, sounds like you will need to calibrate it. Some of the FB have been coming in too tight, so you may need to talk to your retailer about that, though the intention is to be snug at least.

I've just finished my first two batches with the Gen4 35 liter, I'm very happy with the purchase. I have two questions: 1. If I use the PID function, do I still need to turn down the power to ~ 30% during the mash? 2. is there a delayed start function like in the older models? If yes, how do I access it? Prost and keep the videos coming;)

Hey! Just got a gen 4 about a month ago and comparing it with my old 4 vessel Herms system I used to have a few years ago, I must say that this little brewery does a fantastic job at replacing all that gear!!! I’m very positively surprised with it, first brew in and I already love it!!! When will the heat exchanger dish be available for sale in Norway? I really do want to get one for the step mashes 😊
@DavidHeathHomebrew

Great to hear. I went to electric one vessel from herms quite some years ago and have never looked back. I have samples of these dishes but no confirmed ETA just yet. I suspect early next year though.

I have been watching your videos for some years now and was looking to get an all-in-one system like this and the Grainfather and am leaning towards the Brewzilla only because of budget. I was just wondering what sparge water heater to get? I have been looking at the Grainfather sparge water heater, Digiboil or Stillworks. I'm guessing it depends on how fast it can heat the water up and how accurate the temperature reading is. Any recommendations Dave?
@DavidHeathHomebrew

Great to hear. I think its really hard to beat the Brewzilla GEN 4 for features to value and there are lots of potential upgrades available that you just cannot get from other companies at present that increase the edge further. Sparge water heater wise ive got both the GF and digiboil versions. The main difference is volume, so let that guide you I would say.

Does the steam condenser work with the boil extender? My assumption would be that the boil extender is the same diameter as the 35l and 65l systems, so it would work.

Interesting, however the part with 3 cable is absolutely NO GO ! if you plug one lead in and you touch one of the other leads that isn't plugged in yet, you will be electrocuted. The other thing is you will have to bee 100% sure that the phase and neutral is correct placed on the lead and on the house socket as well. But interesting indeed, specially the 100 L edition, look forward to see it. 👍

the "dead center" drain will make whirlpooling a challenge if you are using it to remove hop debris from the wort.
@Unclejona

I'm pretty sure that this centre hole means you don't need to make a hop cone
@rustypotbrewer4743

@@Unclejona the purpose of the hop cone, in my opinion, is to remove the majority of the hop debris before transferring to the fermenter. All but impossible with the center drain.
@DavidHeathHomebrew

This system has a false bottom, there is no need to whirlpool. This covers the centre drain of course, so if you wanted to wp anyway then no problem.
