Yeah it's an interesting balance between simplicity in the handle and badassery in the blade.

Very informative review, thanks for doing it. This makes me more excited that I got in on the Rivers Edge Cutlery exclusive pre-order for a barked and blacked-out version of the Raptor.

Hey Kevin, great review as always. I may have a raptor up for sale if you are interested. It’s the blasted with speed holes and bronze hardware. Keep up the great work.

I’m a huge knife fan and watch all the big knife reviewers but have never seen one of your reviews but I must say what an excellent review. You covered every part of this knife. Amazing job and can’t wait to see more of your videos as I just subscribed. What a nice knife I love it. The only thing I don’t like it the free spinning pivot so I’ll wait till the next batch comes out. I see this review is 8 months old it’s now December and Knife center has some of these do you happen to know if that’s the new run or old and how would I tell. ? Thanks again for an excellent review of this beautiful knife. 👍🏻

Thanks for the incredibly kind words! The ones that just hit Knife Center (and DLT and Knife Joy and a few others) are indeed the V2's -- a bit slimmer and no free spinning pivot. They should say "V2" in the product description or title; those should definitely be the only ones in stock, but check for that just to be sure. Let me know if you end up picking one up!

@@KnifeNerdery Hi Knife Nerdery Thanks for the info it’s much appreciated. I just ordered the V2 today and can’t wait to get it in hand I should have it by the end of the week as Knife Center has some great shipping times. Thanks again for the great review and all the info in helping me pick the right one. Your review was so good I just watched it again to get to know the knife a little more before I get it in hand. Thanks again for the reply brother.

I definitely prefer knives without detent ramps. I do prefer knives that clear the detent ball very early
@KnifeNerdery

It's case-by-case for me. On some knives, the detent ball ramp is really helpful and a pleasure to use, but other times it just makes things worse. Either way, everyone is better off if they make the detent ball angle as early as possible!

The knife is gorgeous but man why god damn it you've made the video so long (36 min.), this way you boring the people who watch it believe me.I swear watch it to the 15th min. and stop!

Hahah, you're absolutely right -- the vast majority of folks don't want anywhere near as much detail as I go into. Luckily there's literally thousands of channels, including some good friends of mine, who fill the 5-10 minute space really well. If you do find yourself in one of my videos again, a) I wholeheartedly recommend 2x speed (seriously), and b) I always try to include timestamps down at the bottom so you can skip to the part you actually care to hear about.
