Saw your clip on the astronomy book, got the Owl VR kit and now saw this clip. Somehow found this one hard to accommodate. Many other VR videos work Ok. Pity you didn't put in the picture you just took, so we can see the camera used. I'm the proud owner of a 3D video camera and there aren't many around. However mine makes 16:9 framed videos, not square ones. Now trying to find out if that format is possible on KZitem. Thanks for promoting 3D, which has been a lifetime hobby for me.

I heard that your a member of a stereographer fan club, 3D is also one of my hobbie, Im using Natron and Blender for my stereoscopic video, but doing this with real camera i need to build a rig with mirror, it's still hard to produce content like that in real, but with CGI no probleme, it's piece of cake to add second Lens.

I love him. He acts like he's NOT a super famous musician who added a whole chapter on rock guitar, who was part of one of the very few GREAT musical events of ALL times, and who compose and played some of the most inspirational pieces of music ever...And yes, this is the way he should act, because he's EVEN more than all of that, he's a human being living in the present...I guess. LOVE.

I don't get it, why the fascinating tech dissappeared?! No 3D tvs, monitors or cameras produced in t he last 6 years... Maybe the future will bring us vertical videos *_only_* and mono instead of stereo, it would not surprise me. 😫 Writing out of frustration after my 3D 65" oled just died and after LG told me it cannot be serviced because those motherboards aren't produced since 2017. Damn thing cost me 4000€ new! Add some extra 3000 for the bluray player and about 90 (I know, I'm sick) blu-ray dvds.

If you think this is cool but nothing special, think twice. Stereo (3D) photography has been around for more than a century, but it has never been more than a rare experimental curiosity. This and other 3D videos from a person of such calibre as Brian May is are an extremely rare occurrence. Most people likely won't see anything like it in their entire life. Cherish it!

How was this video made in 3D? That's my question. I've gotten into 3D after visiting Stonehenge where they had 3D postcards. I thought "Yes! That's the only way to appreciate Stonehenge" because 2D doesn't do it justice. Same as the snow piles in my driveway and other things. I have two identical small cameras mounted on a stick to take side-by-side pictures. But I have to press the buttons at the same time. And beyond a certain point, 3D doesn't look 3D. It's best to have something receding into the distance. There's software I found called StereoPhotomaker that puts both images side by side. I tried doing it manually but eventually discovered that even two identical camera models side by side are slightly different vertically. I tried three different models on two different sticks and a countertop - same results.

My stepmother donated my Dad's Victorian collection of stereoscopes and images to Brian's collection a few years ago. Dad and I used to replicate this using a couple of SLRs followed by darkroom time back in the early 80's. Now, in 2019, I have just ordered my Lite Owl and Owl VR kit and reminiscing of good times with my much loved Dad who passed 20 years ago.

What so you think of triple flare stereoscopy? Where instead of using two stereogram cards you use two eyes on a face. Not so 3D, but can be done between two people.
@pentacleman1000
2 жыл бұрын
Okay, I’ll go look for that app. But I’m not sure I’d trust an app to align my two shots perfectly. If I tilt the phone a bit between shots, which happens now and then, at least a little, that can cause alignment problems. There is also cropping and as you pointed out, decisions about where the stereo window should be to either cause or prevent things from coming out of that window, or being clipped by the window and looking weird. So many considerations. I usually just take my shots and do all that alignment and cropping stuff later in my image manipulation program. And then post it on FB for my friends. And I set them up for crossed eyed viewing, because more people are able to free view cross eyed than the other way. So even though it’s not ideal, it’s easier. I can’t even free view the other way myself any more… too old. So I also shoot right to left, so that I can check the shot right away on the phone by cross eyed viewing the two preview images in the Photos album. I’m also a big fan of hyper stereo, so I want to make sure I haven’t overdone the separation. Hmm, couldn’t find the app. Oh well.
