Really helpful, thank you. I just got an Ibanez archtop and following these steps made it a breeze.

I always enjoy watching Adam's in-process videos. He's the most thorough, concise, and centered luthier I've encountered in the Twin Cities, and he gets projects completed in a timely manner. Recommended!

QUESTION : WHY WAS IT A FLOATING BRIDGE IN THE FIRST PLACE WHEN IT HAS ADJUSTABLE SADDLES TO INTONATE IT ?

Nice job there, but as its a new guitar without the bridge base ever touching the top before you should have demonstrated the process of sanding the contours from the top radius to match the bridge base. Now it will never be right unless you undo your work and remove the grub screws and contour correctly.

Why in the world would someone pin a floating bridge? Just so it doesn't move? I don't get it but I come from the a world of violins and cellos.

Once a bridge slips out of place from using the Bigsby, or from restringing, the fretted notes will be out of tune. You can't compensate by ear the way you can on a fretless instrument.

@@MillCityLutherieDito, and even if you could compensate by ear which would require fingering the next lower fret and bending up . . . well that would be all and good . . . but . . . then with a guitar you can play chords . . . don't hear those much out of violins and cellos . . . well maybe a double stop here and there . . . . Hell I still have a hard time keeping the guitar in tune after cranking the Bigsby even with the pinned bridge not sliding around. Oh, I almost forgot. The answer to Michael Collins' question is answered with his second question. Yup, you pin the floating bridge so it doesn't move around. Respectfully Michael, It baffles me . . . how that baffles you.
