Good luck buddy in your trapping! I started when I was 15 year old and now I am 53 year old ! I enjoy trapping!

Good review of these three traps. I also took up trapping this year for the first time and so don't think you are by yourself figuring things out. Some trappers most likely will say different but it isn't rocket science. The trap is going to do its thing properly nearly all the time. If you are in an area where there are animals available to trap, then it mostly boils down to trap placement and attracting the animal to the trap set. Since most animals being trapped are motivated by hunger, territory protection, or sex, it really doesn't take all that much to get an animal to visit a trap site. Trapping, I have discovered, is more about understanding animal behavior than anything else with location also playing a big role. Good luck in your trapping!

Bridger,,, 1 pound pan tension is way to light, your gonna have toe catches and pull outs and your gonna bite your fingers when you bed your trap

Nice man! Good luck and let us know how things go! You already explained an issue on why dogless are better which I've not heard before. Cool!

To get a proper reading on pan tension u need to place the pan tension scale in the middle of the pan. If u measure at the end like u did it will read light and closer to the dog will read heavy

Without question MB 550 are awesome traps, I run them and Bridger number 3 off set fully modified. A big coyote will trash a regular trap alot of times. I run 3 to 4 pounds pan tension. Mainly looking for yotes but does fine on fox. Trapping is as much if not more fun then deer hunting. Walking up on a fawn killer is to cool

True. But the affordability is the problem. I believe it's the same as buying a Remington 870 versus a wing master. The 870 is proven to get the job done but the wing master feels so much better.
