Brightline isn’t the only train that’s being delayed, Texas central railway has yet to begin construction on its Dallas Houston rail line.

I heard. Sad to hear that this project is pushed back again. Also, is Brightline going to benefit from Biden's infrastructure bill? I heard something about Brightline getting subsidies as part of the plan.
@AmericanRailClub

Most likely not in subsidies but in the allocation of more private activity bonds - if the bill is even passed in the way the Biden admin wrote it.

Hey Amtrak is on track to return to Vegas sometime "in the next 15 years" so lets all take bets to see if Brightline West can move a single cubic centimeter of dirt by then :)

Im confused why they don't go for a more reasonable, Las Vegas, to Literally hell during the day(phoenix)

There's a larger amount of travel between LA and Vegas, that's the most likely reason. The possibility of an extension toward other parts of the South West are still there.

2:39 Oh no, PLEASE! No public-private partnerships! In my town it was a public-private partnership in urban public transport and has not ended well: worse even then in the communist era!...

Could you explain?
@trainspotting_and_tech2023

@@Pensyfan19 thanks for the answer! I will explain (write): I'm from Târgu Mureș, Romania (Eastern Europe) and in my town it was for 19 years (2001-2020) a public-private partnership (in romanian language means "asociere") between the city-owned public company: "Transport local SA" (romanian "SA" = english "PLC") and a private company: "Siletina Impex SRL" ( romanian "SRL"= english "LLC"). It was literally a mess and it was getting worse and worse, year by year. They literally didn't do nothing to improve it, just stole the public money...

@@trainspotting_and_tech2023 P3s in the US can go either way. When you dig deeper, a lot more goes wrong in terms of who is in charge of the project and what the timelines entail. P3s can become as much of money sinks just as private companies can dry up on funding.

Even with a conventional hardrock TBM it would be as cheap to drive a single 11 psi tunnel directly city to city and use the Japanese maglev rather than all the problems involved with surface trains. Here is a study on cutter disks www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2095809917307944 and there has been some lab work on second free face TBM as used in blasting but I believe this could drive 100m per day 3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/c1405816-d744-4363-8cf8-729828f9397e/14m-cone-with-discs
