I went down a rabbit hole of trying to get the best roast chicken. 😂I don't really understand using the airfryer if you aren't going for crispy skin, if that's the plan then why don't you slow cook in the airfryer? The problem with wet brining is how soggy it makes the skin, you could cook without the bag and use a low temp of say 90C for 4 or 5 hours until the chicken temps correctly - this is a long slow exposure to dry air, which would be awesome. If I was going to have a crack at this - I'd brine it, then use your fingers to loosen/separate from body as much skin as possible(this helps the steam and fat escape, they prevent crisping) Put in the sink and pour boiling water from a full kettle all over it for 30 seconds until the skin goes white and tensioned, then leave at least overnight, preferably 3 days uncovered in the fridge. Give it a light dose of olive oil and salt for the skin, put in the air fryer, off the bottom, on low until it's cooked. Take the chicken out, let it rest completely. While that's happening heat the basket to maximum temp with a bit of oil, maybe put a bit more oil on the chicken, and throw in the AF for 5 -7 mins, turning once if you want, so you get that skin crisp. This could be an interesting recipe lol. 🤣

Hi. Wow thanks for that, I will have to give it a try sometime in the future. To be honest I'm not a lover of crispy skin, I want to find the fastest way to have a moist succulent chicken 🤣. When I do it without the roasting bag it comes out crisp + dryer so perhaps worth trying cooking 90% in a roasting bag then taking out and blitzing it for the remainder of the time, this might give a crisp skin. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to contact me. Have a fantastic week 😊🍺☕

Nice one Andy... I'm avoiding Chicken for a while pal... After cooking some of my regular Chicken Thighs last week... And even though they were still in date (just)... They wouldn't cook properly and looked very anemic... And after i plated them up... I took one bite... And the first piece didn't taste right at all... So they all got binned and i had some Beef Noodles instead... So Chicken won't be on my shopping list for a while my friend... As there's no way i was going to give myself food poisoning... So it's put me off Chicken for now... About a year ago i was contemplating on getting myself one of those electric Egg Cookers... But i didn't know if they were yet another one of those kitchen gadgets that are used a few times... And are then unceremoniously dumped in the back of my kitchen cupboard. 😂 I even looked online for jars of Pickled Eggs to snack on at night... But the ones i found were mega expensive pal... They were the Garner's Pickled Eggs... A jar of five were priced at £3.90... I also saw on Asda Online... That they sell a pack of two Hard Boiled Eggs for £1.30...🥚😂 Not a chance in hell that i'm paying that for two Hard Boiled Eggs either... Especially as i can buy a tray of 15 Eggs for just £1.99... 👍 Anyway Andy... Please could you give my kindest regards to your good lady wife and family... And could you also please give my best wishes to Bob too pal... Many thanks for the video my friend... It's very much appreciated... Enjoy the rest of your weekend pal... All the very best... Cheers Andy. 🍺

Hi Rick. As it happens, my wife cooked two chickens on Tuesday and when she cut into the first one it was GREEN inside. Needless to say both chickens went straight in the bin, we had burgers instead. My wife's not having chicken now for a while too. Me I love the stuff and one badie is not going to put me off. I love my egg cooker, I use it all the time, it's so much cheaper and easier then doing them on the oven. I can cook 6 eggs so some for a meal and the others ready for egg sandwiches for work. I love picked eggs to bud. Best thing is get some pickling vinegar cook up 15 eggs put the jar in the sink and chuck the eggs in 🤣. Waste of vinegar I know cus it overfills down the drain but it saves trying to store it elsewhere 🤣. Everyone here wishes you a fantastic weekend. 😊🍺🥃

@@AWWF That's a bit of a coincidence with your Chickens being off too Andy... It makes me wonder if there's been an issue with storage or refrigeration at some point in the food chain... But the last time i had food poisoning... Was from a Southern Fried Chicken Takeaway Shop... I'd grabbed something quick and easy to eat one evening... And i bought myself three pieces of Southern Fried Chicken & Chips... And as i hadn't had anything else to eat on that day... When i started to feel unwell in the early hours... I knew exactly what had caused it... Either it was under cooked Chicken pieces... Or out of date Chicken pieces... But either way... It wasn't a very pleasant experience at all my friend... 🤢 Cheers mate.🍺
