My family used to raise a small herd of bison, 30-40 animals. They're wonderful creatures. We had a cattle chute system for preg checking them and giving them shots and whatnot. It worked well enough except for the bulls. Their horns were too wide, they couldn't get through some of the chutes so we'd have to give them shots with a stick injector. And it sounds crazy, but you know what I miss most about them? Their smell. They didn't smell like cows, they had a very distinct, rich aroma. Their fur smelled like heaven.

We should allocate a massive section of Britain to become a massive nature reserve and reintroduce all our lost species. Ps. Most of the species we've lost have either really close relatives or are still knocking about in other places. There is a lot of evidence that reintroducing all our lost species would strengthen the ecosystem and a lot of invasive species will die off. The rest we'll have to manually deal with. I'd be so exited to see our big preditors back again. Bears, Bison, Wolves, Massive owls and also the red squirrels and all the bird species that will start to outcompete those nasty pigeons.

@@InferiorRaven77 Although your theory would probably never happen I would fully support that 100% it annoys me when people are like but predators aren’t cute and cuddly they’re dangerous, well duh that’s the whole point, I’m not gonna go off into a wolf infested wood without a rifle but it’s still possible to do, all over the world people do it, and in countries populated much more densely than ours. The last part about pigeons I kind of agree with, except that we should eat them, they are so abundant and could really help some poorer families get through with a little bit of extra meat, it’s not much but it’s an added something.

Wisents! This is a great project for a nature reserve and could maybe be scaled up to national parks with few residents, though you just know the public who don't live next to them are going to object to culling them when they get to overpopulating an area and horribly starving to death/spreading disease/overbrowsing sensitive areas and the people who do live near them won't much like reintroducing wolves...
@thekindwanderer

This is really exciting! I hope that eventually they also consider key predator species as well. In the US we have the problem of some deer populations getting too large and eating everything because they do not have the balance of a predator species (ex. wolves that many states have hunted down to a zero population).
@chapmangeorge1

Many in the UK hope for the return of wolves, lynx and bears too for the same reason! Unfortunately the government and some farmers aren't exactly on board. Hopefully the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone will eventually inspire confidence in the UK, even if it takes a while!
