Well, I did some research and asked a few people and someone over at the Garagepunk site mentioned "It's a television commercial they recorded for a record shop - The Toowong Music Centre, Nelson. It's on page 67 of the David Nichols Go-Betweens book. It was a song they appear to have made up on the spot.". I'll transcribe the page if you're interested. It's a shame they never recorded it into a full length and released it. It's a killer song...

4:13 awesome music that is trying to capture the 1960s flower power sound but made decades laters.

What is that song starting at 3:30 with the Bob Dylan takeoff video? This was also in the Saints "Stranded" documentary I think.

Oh, and the video footage of the man comin' around the corner and the dude with the signs which resembles the INXS video...that's footage of the actual commercial. I'm tryin' to do a search to find the commercial, I'd love to see that in its fullest if possible.

7:30 good song by the riptides. eerie, somber, druggie song by tangled shoelaces afterwards.

What is the name of the Tangled Shoelaces song? It sounds like a 1960s-era druggie song updated for a later time.

Yes Mr Nelson there certainly was pretentiousness from certain people at that time. The names Forster and Mclennan spring to mind.
