The Supremes are iconic. They have LOTS of great songs. "My World Is Empty Without You", "Reflections", "Someday We'll Be Together", "I Hear A Symphony", "You Keep Me Hangin' On", "Love Is Here And Now You're Gone", "The Happening", "Stop, In The Name of Love", "Baby Love", and many, many more. You can't pick a bad Supremes song, such a thing doesn't exist.

This clip is from a 1964 concert film called "The T.A.M.I. Show" that featured the top pop/rock acts of the day. James Brown appeared in the film as well in a legendary performance that would be a perfect choice for a future reaction!

The lead singer is Diana Ross, who had a huge solo career after the Supremes broke up. She was a, I guess you could say a mentor, to Michael Jackson when he went solo. Diana and Michael were great friends. Diana is also mother to Tracee Ellis Ross who is an Emmy award winning actress that appeared on a few television shows, (Girlfriends and Black-ish). Diana was an actress also who was nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of Billie Holliday in Lady Sings the Blues. She has had such an amazing career and, imo, one of the best voices of our generation. Great reaction guys. Those wigs they were wearing could rival some of Dolly Parton's wigs, for height. 😁😁 Peace out, y'all. ✌

The Supremes were one of the best Motown girl groups from the 60's. Most of their early material was written & produced by Berry Gordy or Smokey Robinson. They had so many great hits such as "Stop! In The Name Of Love", "Someday We'll Be Together", "Baby Love", "Come See About Me", "Back In My Arms Again", "I Hear A Symphony", "You Can't Hurry Love", "Love Is like An Itching In My Heart", "Love Is Here & Now You’re Gone", "You Keep Me Hangin' On", "Love Child" etc.

They were not one of the best girl groups. They were the greatest American group of all time with 12 number ones a record never broken by any American group male or female. Becaiuse they are Black and female they are roped off into a Motown group category as if they were seperate from the rest of the music business.. Trust if they were White and male they would be honored as they should be.

Big Motown fan here. The artists and the music of Motown were a big influence on the Beatles and other groups from the UK. If you have the time there is a great documentary, made in 2019, called: Hitsville: The Story of Motown. It details how the company got started and the many young men and women from Detroit who formed singing groups that eventually toured around the world. It also talks about the studio musicians, known as the Funk Brothers, who developed the Motown Sound. It is well worth the watch, especially if you want to delve into Motown artists. Thanks for this great video. Love your channel. 👏👏🥰🇨🇦

Well we know why that was!!! Just look at all the Music Books at any popular bookstore. You see large photos and articles about All the British Groups and White American bands/brands. But you only find small articles and photos on The Supremes, Smokey, The Temptations etc. Sad but true. And everyone knows the Supremes had Five consecutive number ones but In all a total of 12 and for Ross 18!!! So please tell me why are we so copied but overlooked! No ...we already know! Ask yourselves. The good thing is... God is going to fix it all soon.

They broke down a lot of barriers for black artists in music of all genres. The group split because of tensions over Diana Ross getting star billing because she was dating Barry Gordy a mogul in Motown. They reformed for a time without Diana but officially disbanded in 1977 with Nary Wilson being the only original member left. I'm not sure if the audio discrepancy was because of how audio and video were probably still done separately even when taping a concert.

They're not lipsyncing and this isn't from a television program. The T.A.M.I. Show was a theatrically released concert film. What you reacted to is a poorly edited fan-made video that's been overdubbed with the studio recording of the song. The original, live-sung performance is here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/maaawH5tjZ17hIo

The Supremes sang this live in the rock and roll classic film, “TAMI”. The person who posted this video synchronized the recorded version of the song to the live performance. In the live performance, Diana sings a couple of lines differently from the recorded song which is why the video is off in certain spots. They did not mime or lip sync the song in the film. They also sang 3 other songs. There were many great artists in the film.

The lead, Diana Ross had a lot of hits solo as well. She is Michael Jacksons Godmother & she sang alongside him in that 'We are the world, USA for Africa' song. They were very close. She has also acted in movies like 'Mahogony' & I love the song from it 'Do you know where you're going to'.

You shoulda probably reacted to their complete set from the TAMI show rather than just the last bit. If you REALLY love Motown react to 'Ready Steady Go - The Sounds of Motown' hosted by Dusty Springfield who sings live with the Supremes, the Miracles, Stevie Wonder, Martha & The Vandellas and The Temptations in a legendary British show from the 60s. If you do, I will certainly be watching.

Have anyone noticed that the Supremes are always referred to as the most successful of the Motown acts. That ropes them off from the rest of the music business and into a category of Motown Act and I believe racism is at the bottom of this way of categorizing them. DIANA ROSS AND THE SUPREMES HAVE 12 NUMBER ONE HITS A RECORD NEVER BROKEN BY ANY AMERICAN GROUP MALE OR FEMALE. THIS MAKES THEM THE GREATEST AMERICAN GROUP OF ALL TIME. Now that's the truth of the matter. If they were White and male they would be honored as such.
