So, on the topic of ice cubes. It is all about thermal mass. Assuming a finite time, the greater the beverage (warm) to ice (cold) ratio, the faster the ice will melt and the more watery your drink will be. So, if you put a lot more ice than soda (or other beverage) in your glass, the ice will chill the drink quickly and melt slower. If you use less ice the ice will melt more quickly and water down your drink faster. So, fill up the class to the top with ice, pour in your beverage of choice, and refill as necessary!

Sweet/salty is great. I’ve been to France and tried the escargot. They were ok but certainly not on my list of favorite things. Doggie bags are super common. I think the additional context here is that portion sizes outside of America can be much smaller, therefore not necessarily designed to be taken home. If your food is half the portion of an American restaurant plate and you don’t eat it all, it may be more “rude,” like you didn’t enjoy the food if that makes sense. It kinda connects to the coffee as well; American culture is a lot more about convenience and being “on the go” whereas other Western European cultures in particular value the experience of going to a place and sitting there with the ambience, food etc.

The cup full of ice thing is so annoying! They do that to save money- they didn't have to give you as much of the actual drink. Especially if it's drive thru. I always ask for light ice or easy ice or sometimes no ice depending on what I'm getting. And once in awhile they tell me it's an extra charge BECAUSE IT MEANS MORE DRINK, LOL.

We are told to FILL the glass with ice, then add the beverage. Yes it waters down the drink, but Ice is free for the restaurants. You can always ask for a refill. Still, it prevents “large quantities of product” arriving at the table. Yes, I am referring to things like Sprite and Coke. Restaurants make a TON of money off of these items, some only profit on beverages, appetizers and desserts. It’s an odd system.

Generally, most of the US doesn't have time for "Big Breakfasts". Weekends for sure. Big Sunday breakfast is a tradition in my house. Otherwise anything from cereal to muffins to something easy and quick. The 'gap' isn't a thing. You can't actually see anything unless you get right up to the door and peek thru'...which would be weird. You can tell someone's in the stall but you can't see anything. It's actually easier to see out than in. Bacon is da' bomb! and I even spice and sweeten it up by sprinkling paprika and chili pepper and honey or sugar and then bake it on a rack in the oven. PB&J is a tradition. Salty/sweet and savory is a real thing. Dip your fries! Doggy/clam shell leftovers is great. Eat it again later or on the morrow for lunch at work. Refills and ice Who0p! Some places charge for a refill...most don't. The cups are larger in the US to accommodate for the ice and you can ask for light or no ice and still get your cup filled for the same price. I always ask for light ice.

Lew(?), I have an experiment for you. Take two glasses, some ice, and some room temperature coke. Fill one glass to the top with ice. Fill the other glass barely 1/4 filled with ice. Fill both glasses with Coke. The liquid is much warmer than the ice. In the glass with mostly room-temp coke, the ice will melt quickly. In the glass filled with ice, the coke will be quickly chilled to be a similar temp as the ice, so the ice stays ice, until the room temperature melts it after a longer period of time. You get less coke in the glass, but with free refills we get, who cares? You get to drink all the ice-cold non-watered-down coke you want. Big brain!

There used to be a restaraunt in Anaheim, CA called "Belisle's". I remember orderning a traditional turkey dinner for one from them and I walked out of there with 4 huge boxes of food which lasted all week. Peanut butter and jelly is the bomb, it doesn't matter which jelly you use: strawberry, grape, boysenberry, raspberry, oalillberry... the important thing is to find the "Golden Ratio" of peanut butter to jelly, what that ism only you can determine. Same applies for Peanut Butter and Honey sandwiches. The pro method is to let the honey sit for a little on the bread first before eating it, the honey will get a little crunchy along the outside edge.

4:58 I've posted on one of your videos before about the bathroom stall issue. it is the result of a legal matter that stemmed from a lady that passed out in a stall (back when the stalls went down to the floor and didn't have 'cracks'). no body could get to her because of the old design of the stalls and she ended up having a medical issue. she ended up suing the business then the stall maker over the issue. so now they make it so that someone can get to you if you are unresponsive when it looks like you might be having a medical issue. as as long as someone isn't just standing there staring at you through the crack, then we just ignore it.

13:35 there are multiple reasons for so much ice. A. lots of ice in a cup means that less drink will be needed to 'fill' it. thus restaurants spend less on drinks as ice is very cheap. B. sodas use carbon dioxide and it diffused into the soda best at 43*F. so chilling the soda helps the taste. C. cold water actually tastes better than warm (room temp) water.
6:11 you can make bacon then pour pancake batter over the slices and cook that up. then pour syrup over them when you eat them... it's wonderful... pancake covered bacon... tip, use 'thick cut' bacon for this.
