Anyone who witnessed those great days of early diesels, will absolutely love the music, due to the nostalgia its linked too.

These pictures are so fascinating they really ought to each be on the screen for a lot longer so we can study them properly. The maroon Warship arriving at Exeter St David's in the rain is particularly atmospheric

a great collection of rare colour images from that era - and the music is just perfect! Oh I wish I had my own memories of the transition period, but I start with the Rail Blue of the 70s. Thanks for putting this together and posting.

What an excellent set of pictures! The Class 37 with the Brake Tender is I think photographed at Thornaby station? These need to be in a book! For the record the music ain't too bad either - its the sort of thing James Last might have done.

The location of the brake tender was West Hartlepool dated 22-08-1966. The loco was D6777. Glad you enjoyed the video

@@agdenyer if you mean the one at the 2:04 mark the you're both wrong its Middlesbrough. The signal box is Dock Hill.which controlled the trains on the goods lines that still run on the noth side of Middlesbrough station. It's the same signal box that the Class 27 (D5372) is passing. Hartlepool didn't have a box like this.

Yes I believe it is a Class 21. The number fits in with the Class 21 number pattern. D6100-D6157. Class 22's and 29's do look similiar though so I decided to check the number listing first to confirm if it was a class 21 :)
