Ah, Garth ... the reason I ever started listening to country music! That's a deep, deep rabbit hole, but he's just so hard to find online. "The Dance," is a song that gets me through all types of loss and you can get a lyrics video of that. It stands on its own, but sometimes you can find the video where he's honoring the troops with it. (Then listen to Kelly Clarkson's tribute to him singing The Dance. Or Chris Stapleton's tribute to him singing, "Shameless.") This man is an INCREDIBLE entertainer. I saw him several times in the 90's when he would wear a harness and fly right out over the audience and come nose to nose with people in the nosebleed seats! Look for, "Ain't Goin' Down Til The Sun Comes Up." That is the highest energy song and the words just flow ... he used to run around the stage while spitting those words out. Holy cow, he could (and still can) absolutely electrify an audience! You could feel the crackle before he ever stepped foot on stage. He stopped his career at the height of his incredible fame to raise his kids, came back 10 years later and did not miss a beat - still selling out stadiums in minutes!

My family went to see Garth in Nashville last year. Right before the concert started it started pouring rain and lightning and we're outside in a stadium filled with metal benches. 70,000 people had to leave. We all gathered under the stadium seats around the food counters, hoping it would stop. But it got worse. My 6'4" son started singing this song and soon the entire place joined in. Garths private room was under us. I've never had so much fun missing a concert! Later he said on the news, "I'VE GOT THE BEST FANS IN THE WORLD. NO ONE WAS MAD. NO ONE GOT ANGRY. THEY JUST STARTED SINGING LOW PLACES" It's true. It wasn't his fault. And we southern folk can make the best out of a bad situation. We love Garth and will be going back to see him asap.

How funny that you never heard of GARTH! He is true royalty in country music history! This is a great start to Garth. The first time I heard this song was in ‘91 in a Leavenworth, Kansas bar called “Sidetracks”. Today, anytime this song is played, the whole crowd will start singing it and everyone knows every verse, including his later added fourth verse. 😉

You have many many many classics to hear!! YAY for you. One of my dreams came true a few years ago. I saw Garth Brooks LIVE a few years ago!!! I honestly never thought that would happen. It amazed me to type this when I heard that you had never heard of Garth Brooks at all. That simply blows my mind. I live in California and we get some deadly and major destroyer of homes out here with fire you may of heard or not. Garth brooks was still in retirement and not really singing that much except to help out. Well he decided to have a single concert in Los Angeles to raise 100% profits to all the first responders. He sold out that concert in under a minute. We had 4 computers set up & ready while constantly getting refreshed. We got 2 tickets that night off to the side. I think the limit of ticket was 6 per person/credit card. Garth Brooks also made sure that the ticket prices remained the price that they advertised with the increment prices matching what "ticket masters" stated cause they used to sell expensive tickets. We then noticed he was adding another concert which sold out again under a minute so he added one more and the same thing happened with each concert. We amazingly ended up with getting 2 tickets to each show which I was freaking out about so very happy. We live about 3 hours away and the first show and the last were in the afternoon so we decided the best show for us would be the the middle show which was in the evening. We sold 1 pair of tickets and then gave the last day concert to one of the fireman who worked next door and could go. The first concert was aired on TV and it irked me a tiny tab cause where our seats were we would of been on the whole time But Garth's voice was not yet up to par which was understandable. The second concert was amazing and it was over 2 and a half hours long. The third show was over promptly at 90mins. I took some video if you want to see it. It was amazing and every seat at the Staple center was filled which was something I had never seen. He sold out the center all nights which is roughly sixty thousand people together.

Try - Send Em On Down the Road. It's a newer song and you probably won't be able to find a video because he started he can't get through the whole song - this was fine with his girls in mind. The reason it was released on the album is because it was pieced together. Plays on the radio a lot during graduation season.

There is a 3rd verse that he only sings in concert. Well I guess I was wrong, I just don’t belong. But then, I’ve been there before. Everything’s Alright, I’ll just say goodnight. And I’ll show myself to the door. Hey I didn’t mean, to cause a big scene. Just let me finish this glass Then sweet lady, I’ll head back to the bar, And you can KISS MY ASS! Garth is very protective of his music and really really dislikes any digital exchange. He believes that you should buy a album so you have a physical copy that you can play, and it’s part of the music experience. Thunder Rolls, The Dance, That Summer, Rodeo, Baton Rouge and many others are great great songs

The liner notes on the CD said that, during the party singing at the end, you can hear the pause between "I got friends" and "in low places" punctuated with the popping of the pop-top of a can of beer. Garth did that, but he sprayed beer into a $3000.00 microphone and shorted it out. No problem. Garth can afford it. Anything he recorded is worth listening to. Love all your reactions!

There’s A third verse to this song that he sings when you see him live but because of the content it’s not on his original recording. It goes, “Well I guess I was wrong, I just don’t belong, but then I’ve been there before. And everything is all right, I’ll just say good night, and I’ll show myself to the door. Hey I didn’t mean to cause a big scene just wait till I’ve finished this glass, then sweet little lady I’ll head back to the bar and you can kiss my ass!”). 😄 I can tell you that he puts on one of the finest concerts I’ve ever gone to. Most country artists today owe their career to Garth Brooks. He is the godfather of country rock. Odd yet funny story about him, when Garth was sorta first gaining ground in Country he was so far off the edge of accepted country that the industry threatened to kick him out and make him go rock. He told em ok, but he was taking his entire fanbase with him. The industry backed off instantly and Garth became one of the largest country stars in history. County was basically still Country-Western before Garth.

Garth Brooks is amazing! Especially live. It’s worth it to have lower audio quality (he’s that good) to see him on stage poorer quality live video. He has secret live verses for this song and for “Thunder Rolls.” He sang this with Justin Timberlake (with the 3rd verse). His debut on the American Music Awards was so much fun (no 3rd verse, though, as it’s inappropriate for the youngsters). He does an insanely excellent cover of “Shameless.” He performed “American Pie” with Don McLean. Ain’t Going Down Till the Sun Comes Up is one of his faster paced songs. Two Piña Coladas is hard to find in KZitem. The Dance is a beautiful tear-jerker. You really won’t find a bad song in his catalogue. I love his song The Rodeo.
