Totally agree with you, such a shame the way the industry is going. For me the most disappointing is Air Arms, changing their recognised logo and to make it even worse they partner up with a nobody brand. Probably the most accurate review of the air gunning industry I have ever heard.. I was there even though I went last year and it was dire then… The amount of paid “influencers” poncing around and quite frankly sucking up to the manufacturers is mind boggling these days.. especially at the FX stand.. If more people told the truth on the internet then maybe we could get some genuine new developments that actually work properly Best upload on airgunning related content I have seen for ages 👍

Your last comments on a quality AA Break Barrel from hits the nail on the head - an up to-date ProElite - build specifically to the same quality as the TX or ProSport - it will never be made. I believe AA were looking into a 'badge engineered' break barrel rifle some time ago, but assessed the market wasn't there. Shame, I only hope the AA accountants suggest they follow the route of Webley and BSA. I'm fortunate enough to have Steve Pope (RIP) build a reduced cylinder ProElite for me many years ago - re-engineered to make it a brilliant shooting 12FPE rifle - the rifle it should have been.

£30 to get in on the day unless you get your ticket previously on line (then it's £25). The show closes at 4.00pm now on the Friday (so same as Sunday) where Friday/Saturday used to be 5.00pm. Totally agree about the BSA so called 'takedown', what a joke that is 😂. Looked at the new Indian made stuff on the AA stand and thought what a load of rubbish! So sad, my heart really sank 😩😢 Talking to one stand owner, he said how the prices for the stand had gone up again and he just new he was going to lose money this year. No wonder there were hardly any small stalls selling gear and second hand rifles etc. There did seem to be a lot of small stands selling alcohol though? I went to buy a Donny FL Yokozuna (nice to see he was actually at the show, and a nice guy willing to just chat) but when I went to buy one (from his UK distributor) they didn't have any left! That was lunchtime on day one! You couldn't make this up. The guy comes all the way from America and his UK distributor at the show simply hadn't brought anything like enough stock to the show, how embarrassing! They are sending it in the post. I did like the look of the new Arkan Zulus all in one Thermal/night/RF scope. The two on show were prototypes, but wow, that caused me to hold off buying their current one I went to buy! They are hopeful they will be out to buy later this year. One worth waiting for I think. Does anyone want to buy my Wraith? 😅. I did also liked the new Krait Light L (long barrel). That's on my shopping list. Tried to buy one there but the container they ordered for the show was held up somewhere (Brexit I suppose 🤔). Will think really hard about going next year.

The last innovation to me in spring guns was the ( only in my opinion) the park recoilless rifle in 1991. Mine is a keeper. But as for todays springers all that any of us want is a simple rifle that is accurate, with an adjustable trigger that will still be shooting in 50 years. At the end of the day accuracy is the key to the success of any air rifle. Totally agree with you that limited editions are a lazy cop out by the manufacturers.

I don’t see the big issue on Air Arms changing their logo. It can really help a company and it tends to mean from top to bottom everything is looked at and potentially refreshed rather it being left alone for the last 15 years. As someone who went I really don’t know what people want. I would say most of the manufacturers were represented with sample guns to touch and feel. There were people on hand to answer questions and many of them had guns on ranges to try ( though some of the charges for doing this were quite high but again you are taking up 30 yards by say 15 in an exhibition hall ) There were lots of scopes and night vision products to examine and try. The days of releasing new products at shows have gone. Nowadays you have to build the hype on social media and other platforms which then might draw people to your stand. On all guns looking the same, this was the same back in the 70’s and 80’s, where it was wooden stocks with the metal action. Probably the only different gun then was the Sussex Armoury Jackel. I honestly don’t think we have ever had it better with a good range of spring guns at various price points and loads of different PCP’s ranging from under £500 to 3k plus. I have seen on other forums that there was a lack of special offers, but the cost of the stands kills the ability to offer much. Is £25 ( pre-booked ) a lot for basically people to sell you items, probably yes. But would I go again, 100%, as I love the fact most of the manufacturers I am interested are in one place and it’s a dedicated event to a hobby I really enjoy and would personally miss it if it went.

Possibly a bit unfair to Weihrauch on their 125 year models. They are in their brand colours and actually built to celebrate their heritage. If they had produced an HW45 in the same colours I’d have bought one on the spot. The show itself felt a bid subdued and a lot of the big stalls from last year were a lot smaller this year. That said, a couple of the vendors said they were doing well for sales on the Friday and better than normal. My favourite part was the Mobility office being upstairs…

AirArms is the brand but NSP engineering handle the manufacturing. Bob Nicholls was the founder that bought up the original stock left by Sussex Armoury after it had be liquidated thus the creation of AirArms specializing in a range of side lever sporting rifles which sold well. What's sad is that I actually contacted Air Arms on several different occasions via email. I advised that I would love to see a TX200 action put in a tactical chassis stock like the S510 tactical pcp. I thought it would be great to have the TX200 HC action in the same matte black aluminum stock with moderator. This chassis could use the m loc for an offset adjustable hamster, or fully adjustable butt stock. I felt this would be fantastic for Field Target competition and hunting. It would be lighter than wood but still capable of adding weight for Field Target if needed. But all I received back was a general statement basically blowing me off. I guess I should have advised logo changes and building plastic Air Arms water guns.

Yes, I share your feelings, but... The airgun market is small, the rifles relatively expensive and complex. The Euro manufacturers are being murdered by Turkish, Chinese and Eastern European guns with whom they simply can't compete (on price). AA have tried charging £1200 for a springer and I guess realise that doesn't work (they got greedy after the COVID shortage). I suppose they'll try splitting the range between UK premium and Indian affordable, but I agree - it risks cheapening the brand which would be fatal. HW100 is a bargain!

I didn’t think this year was great at the show at all. The hall was far smaller , not many people there in the Friday , nothing really new at all ? Loads of NV and thermal stuff , but no amazing new guns sadly. Must say I didn’t enjoy it that much. Shame

I went for the first time, this year, lets just say i will not be in a hurry to go again, being honest i thought it was like you said totally Crap, you couldnt buy any bits and bobs that you might have needed because there was no one there doing and selling the bits and bobs, waste of time and money, the only thing that was in abundance for you to purchase was rifles, and clothing, what about all the rest of the gear,,,,,,,, if i could get my money back i would ,,, Cheers

You complain about any air Riffle manufacturer at the same time record this upload with someone doing DIY 5 metres away quite laughable in itself.

Technology to me is ruining the sport, once the rifle does everything for you what's the point?? huge expense, no skill required, far far too technical and little or no fun. What used to be a fairly cheap and cheerful hobby, where you needed to master recoil, learn about windage etc. and come home with a glow that you were improving has gone, and so has the fun.

Air arms make great rifles but the customer service is shocking.
