Although i could agree for the Warriors, GS is full of monsters through history ever since Wilt, there's an incredible amount of the greatest players of all time that played for them But I can't figure how the Spurs shouldn't be considered one of the biggest franchise ever. Brief history of the nba based on its biggest stars. 1970s: Julius Erving (Dr. J) 1980s: Magic Johnson/Larry Bird 1990s: Michael Jordan 2000s: Kobe Bryant 2010s: LeBron James These aren't the only stars of their time but all of these players were the face of the league at some point in their career. The Lakers and Celtics have had the most historic success but the NBA has had a limit to the total amount of money they can pay their roster since 1985 which keeps balance and it has prevented teams from becoming “bigger” then others and has kept a mostly level playing field

The exception to this is the fact that larger markets (like the LA Lakers and Boston Celtics) always gain more interest from big name unsigned players. Smaller market teams like in Minnesota tend to have to rely more on the draft to get good talent.

I don’t know if you watch basketball normally now, but you should!! This is the best year and beginning of one of the best eras of basketball. Also there is a basketball show every Thursday on TNT called Inside the NBA which features Shaq, Charles Barkley, and Kenny Smith. Basketball legends. It’s hosted by Ernie Johnson, it is the funniest and yet most educating basketball show you can watch. Also 😂 you gotta react to Charles Barkley he is a top 50 player of all time and he’s on the show. Wilt Chamberlain was the most dominant physical player, technically. But he was 7’1 280 lbs. in an era when people were much smaller. But relatively speaking, he was the most dominant. If you want to freak out about size however, go google a picture of Shaq standing next to Yao Ming. Then you’ll be able to understand why Yao Ming generally outplayed Shaq when they faced off against each other. In Shaq’s defense, it wasn’t Shaq in his prime when he was playing Yao.

There was only one guy that could go one on one against prime Shaq and come out ahead, and that's the greatest power forward of all time, Tim Duncan. Though to be fair, Duncan and Shaq wouldn't often match up for a full game as they played different positions and the Spurs didn't want Tim getting into foul trouble early in games guarding Shaq, Shaq was still a beast. But Tim could basically score at will against him and could defend him late in games.

The NBA's biggest teams- Boston Celtics- Have won the NBA Championship 17 times, the most out of any NBA team. Some of the greatest players in NBA history have worn Green & White. Bill Russel, Paul Pierce, Larry Bird, Kevin Garnett, just to name a few. Also, the Celtics have a legendary rivalry with the Lakers. The Celtics are one of the charter members of the league (Alongside the Minneapolis (now Los Angeles) Lakers, Fort Wayne- Zollner (now Detroit) Pistons, Philadelphia Warriors, Rochester Royals (now Sacramento Kings), Tri-Cities Blackhawks (now Atlanta Hawks), and Syracuse Nationals (now Philadelphia 76ers), when it began in 1947, as a result of merger of the National Basketball League and the Basketball Association of America. Los Angeles Lakers- The second winningest team in NBA history, the Lakers have 16 NBA Championships. Though the franchise began in Minnesota, they relocated to Los Angeles in the 1960s. Legendary players like George Mikan, Ervin "Magic" Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Shaq, and Kobe Bryant have all played for the Lakers. Chicago Bulls- A franchise founded in the 1960s, the Bulls are most known for their dynasty in the 90s, and for being the team that Michael Jordan, widely believed to be the greatest basketball player ever, spent the majority of his career playing for. The Bulls have 6 NBA Championships The New York Knicks- Another charter member, the Knicks are honestly, really only famous because they play in the middle of Manhattan. The Knicks have 2 championships, though a few great players like Patrick Ewing and Willis Reed have doned the Orange and Blue. Golden State Warriors-This franchise traces it's history back to Philadelphia. The Warriors have 6 league championships. Despite their history and having great players like Wilt Chamberlain, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Nate Thurman, and Rick Barry play for them. The Warriors for years were mired in futility. The San Antonio Spurs- This franchise traces it's heritage back to Dallas and the American Basketball Association. The Spurs joined the NBA in 1976 (along with the Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, and New York Nets (now known as the Brooklyn Nets). The Spurs have really only had recent success as their first championship came in 1999. Despite this, the Spurs have won the NBA title 5 times. David Robinson, Tony Parker, and Tim Duncan are some of the greatest players to have worn the Silver and Black. Miami Heat- Despite being the youngest franchise on this list (founded 1988), the Heat have done more in 32 years than some charter members have in almost 75 years. In 30 years, the Heat have made the NBA Finals 5 times, winning the NBA Championship 3 times. The Heat have had great players play for them like Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway, Shaquille O'Neal, Dwayne Wade, Lebron James (I know he's also associated with Cleveland and the Lakers), Chris Bosh, and currently, Jimmy Butler

Both the La Lakers and the Boston Celtics are the 2 biggest franchises in basketball history, capturing 16 and 17 titles in their histories, many many more than any other franchises, they have been giants in basketball for nearly their entire histories, and have each had some of the best teams of all time. Some notable Celtic players are Bill russel, tommy Heinsohn, John Havlicek, Larry bird, Kevin McHale, Robert Parrish, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and ray allen, but there are more than just them, and some notable laker players are George Milan, wilt chamberlain, jerry west, Elgin Baylor, kareem Abdul jabbar, magic johnson, James worthy, kobe Bryant, Shaquille o Neal, and pau Gasol, although again, this is not all of them, just some. Right now the lakers and Celtics are both some of the best teams in their conferences right now, the Celtics being led by the trio of kemba Walker, jayson Tatum, and jaylen brown, while the lakers are led by arguably the best duo in the nba in lebron James and Anthony Davis. Hopefully this clears up any questions u may have with these franchises, just thought I should post this as these are teams u have to know about if basketball is something u would like to learn about

Quick fact that I didn't know for many years, is that most times it's reported that Shaq is 7.2 but his true height is 6.10. I have seen it come from his own mouth that he's 6.10. In the NBA and in college it's very common that players stats get exaggerated.

There are some NBA franchises that are considered major franchises. The Bulls, the Knicks, the 76ers have all had their times on top of the league, but by far there are two franchises that are the biggest. The Lakers (my team) have won 16 championships and the Boston Celtics have won 17 in the history of the NBA. It's probably the oldest and most heated rivalry in American sports. Kobe and Shaq won three in a row together. Shaq won another with Miami and Kobe went on to win another two with the Lakers before he retired. If you get the chance, you have to check out Kobe's last game. 38 years old, 20 seasons and two major injuries including a torn achilles later in his career and he cemented his legend with a 60 point final game!!! I've said it before, though, as you heard the announcer say at the beginning of the video, that only Wilt Chamberlain could rival Shaq's strength. Wilt wasn't as thick and heavy as Shaq, but he was taller and had just amazing strength and athleticism. Check him out as well. Looking forward to the "Oh, My Days!" t-shirts, man!

Shaw was tall don't get me wrong, you can debate whether 7'1 or 7'2 but that isn't what was different about him. It was his actual physical build. I find it comical w today's debate on is Zion to big etc. Shaw was every bit of 300lbs entering the league and ran, moved like a deer. His athleticism was out of this world. His discipline on weight or commitment to cardio shape after around 2003 could be discussed, mostly by Kobe lol. But he was prolly 350lb when he left. He was just a monster! Also almost more importantly than anything one of the best ppl ever to have played in any sport. His community work and leadership was like no other. This is gonna trigger ppl but not like LeBron and Twitter pushing racial devides or always complaining( yes I know about his school) but Shaw was a true roll model and spent time w kids and told kids what they really need to hear. Hard work, respect your elders, etc. He is a good man!
